(More customer reviews)I recently purchased two of these paintable birdhouses. One for my five year old son and one for a birthday gift for one of his friends. It comes with the permanent paints and a paintbrush. It is easy to remove and reattach the roof for painting. I found that tape around the twine will make it easy to re-insert it back through the holes...like the end of a shoelace. It is a little more lightweight than it appears in the picture, but is a great craft for kids. We just placed ours outside and hope to get some visitors this season. I would recommend this as a gift for kids from 4 years and older. It's fun for even big kids...like me. :)
