(More customer reviews)I ordered this particular Charlie Brown doll without any user reviews here on Amazon. This is always somewhat of a risk, but someone has to pioneer ahead, right? Well, here's what I discovered:
This particular Charlie Brown doll is a winner. I really like the texture of the material used. His head feels like a soft T-Shirt filled tightly with very soft cotton filling. Squeezing his head is very enjoyable, but it has enough stuffing to keep the shape. The material on the head is stitched together in various places to create the round shape, but the color of thread and the symmetric stitching ensure it is only revealed under close examination. All eyes, mouth, and other facial features are threaded with strong black or brown yarn and will hold up for years of Charlie Brown head squeezing.
The hands and fingers are created by using strong stitching to shape out five fingers.
The clothes are separate from the body of the doll. The shirt is held in place by a hidden velcro lining. The material of the clothing appears to be of reasonable quality, but if something begins to fray it will most likely be the shorts. The shorts are not the same soft cotton T-Shirt material used for the body and are a slightly less soft to touch. The shirt, however, is soft and the black zig-zag is made of black velvet. The shirt and shorts are completely removable. The socks are separate from the body, but are securely stitched into place at the base of the shoe, but can still be pulled down. The shoes are not separate from the body and the shoe laces are the same black yarn used for the face.
If you're concerned about the quality of this Charlie Brown doll, concern yourself no longer! Go ahead and order this Charlie Brown so you too can discover the joy of squeezing his squishy cotton head.
