I got it for my daughter's 3rd birthday and it was a huge hit with her and all of her friends (boys and girls). The lights and sounds are also fantastic, but the stove can be enjoyed without batteries. Be aware that it is very small. It is less than 2 ft tall. I thought this might be a problem, but 3-5 year olds don't seem to mind at all! Besides, it doesn't take up too much room. I also bought the fridge/dishwasher/sink toy from the same manufacturer. Both are great together and are the same height. Very good buy for the money (it was $30 and qualified for free shipping). The fridge/dishwasher/sink was an additonal $34.
