Pirated goods, so a bootleg.
It's pirated merchandise, so the author won't profit from the sales or anything.
For the longest time there existed no official plushies of Vampire Knight yet (in any country, Japan included), so any plushie of the series that you could find for sale here, on Ebay, or elsewhere was always a bootleg/pirated item.
Now there are legally licensed real ones being sold, so there's no excuse to buy a rip-off fake plushie like this one here.
The pirate one may be cute, but the craftmanship and materials could be better, as it's always the case with bootleg items.
Sometimes they look really cute in the pics, but if you buy them, up close you realize things that are less nice. For example, in the way the hair is cut not as well as on official goods, or in the way the clothes are put together a bit sloppy in parts, with some of the seams showing and overall being cheap-looking and having defects here and there.
Overall, despite all the problems this is still a cute and enjoyable plushie, aside from the piracy. But please don't forget that it's just a bootleg, so you have to expect issues.
The "official" paper attached to it is merely a print out of the advertisement for when the anime was about to be first released. As it's a bootleg made from scratch rather than a pirate copy of an existing plushie, they didn't have an official tag to copy from, so they just fished something off the internet.
On the leg, there's a sticker that says "vampire knight" in Japanese, printed on one side in red, and on the other, the name of the pirate company that made them, and with (perhaps in a poor effort to not be sued by the copyright holder?) the words "goods not for sale" in Japanese, with a spelling mistake, no less.
Not very convincing, eh? Especially since those are for sale a bit all over the place these days, and they're mass-produced and shipped all over, of course for sale...
I wrote this review just so that other fans wouldn't fall for it thinking it's official merchandise, when it's pirated stuff.
As long as you buy the bootleg knowing what it is and not minding the problems, I guess it's always better than getting screwed over by buying it thinking it's the real deal.
Although now that the real deal is finally starting to be released, I'd say do yourself a favor and buy a real Vampire Knight plushie, not a bootleg. The quality difference really shows.
And the real ones are actually cheaper than the pirated knock-offs, so it would be ridiculous to go for the pirate instead.
