This may sound insane, but I bought it when my daughter was about 16 months old and insisted on joining us in our afternoon tea time. Given her age, I wanted something with enough volume for her to use if I only filled it halfway (NOT easy to find! - these are a realistic size to actually use!), and I wanted it to be nice looking - not just pink. Since she has her own teapot, she can have herbal tea cooled with ice cubes, and we can have whatever we want in our own pot. We have used this set every single day, sometimes more than once a day. I do all of the handling of everything except my daughter's cup and saucer, but she has never broken her cup and saucer in all this time. The pattern still looks as good as new. I use a bottle brush to clean inside the creamer and tea pot and it works well. I admit I have broken a saucer by dropping it in our porcelain sink, but that is not too surprising. We have a place we visit very often, and we do not want to lug the tea set back and forth so I just purchased another set in the Country Rose pattern.
