(More customer reviews)While it's great that Hasbro is re-releasing My Little Ponies in the first (and best, in my opinion) incarnation that everyone first fell in love with, these new versions don't hold a candle to the originals. Their bodies are harder and not as detailed. Their hair is thin and impossible to style; in the box, the manes are fixed by a piece of plastic that holds them upright, and no amount of brushing and styling will correct them into attractive positions (forget trying to recreate the way the manes used to curl around their necks). Expect permanent snarls and stiffness, whereas the original My Little Ponies usually had soft, manageable hair.
These would be fine as unopened, displayed collector's items, but don't buy these new sets hoping to replace your lost originals. These are incredibly inferior replicas. Keep buying the originals on the secondary market until Hasbro takes the hint!
