I feel it is good to see African Americans to join the ranks of the fashionable. This doll is educational, too. I bought one for my grand daughter because she has an African American uncle who she loves dearly. It would seem strange to not recognize him in the doll kingdom because he is very much a part of our family. The doll is an educational reminder that we can play and emulate life with dolls to help us be aware to welcome all who are different or alike. Since I made that decision I have bought other African American dolls from www.amazon.com. It makes one think there are others out there who are different yet make a difference. I intend on collecting as many different reprsentatives as possible. With www.amazon.com the accessibility is tremendous.
