Not too long ago I started collecting the excellent 7" Neca Harry Potter ation figure series. While searching, I came accross this outstanding collection by Robert Tonner and was blown away. Mister Tonner has outdone himself with this fantastic set of character figures from the Harry Potter movies. They are posable (built very much like a G.I. Joe, but larger). The costuming is fantastic. The robe is fully lined. The outfit consists of a shirt, knit sweater, striped tie and a wool like material for the pants. It also includes the obligatory round eyeglasses. In terms of likeness to the actor, this figure is pretty much spot on to Daniel Radcliffe. In terms of fun (fun is a relative thing), these are not meant to be toys for kids to play with. They are characters to be displayed and enjoyed. They are also highly collectible since they are limited in edition.
Dislikes: The wand is a painted toothpick (a little more research could have been done to recreate the wands for each character. The socks are a seamed sewn material rather than knit. The shoes use thread for the the laces and are difficult to re-tye if they come undone. The gryffindor emblem is an adhesive sticker (at very least, it could have been an iron on for more durability).
Since these are rather expensive items, I don't think it's unfair to call attention to some of the figure's shortcomings. That being said, don't let that put you off to an otherwise delightful set of charcacter figures which on the whole are very well made and very well done.
