When he first arrived, Thomas saw 'Arry and Bert tease him and thought he was friends with them. Later, rumors spread around the yard that Neville was a bad engine who was plotting and scheming with the diesels! Neville sees the engines run away from him. Thomas tells him that he is bad and Neville heads toward a broken bridge. Thomas saves Neville and learns he wasn't a bad engine after all! As seen in the story "Thomas and the New Engine"
