(More customer reviews)We purchased this for my daughters for Christmas (they are 1 1/2 & 3) and it is a great set to go with a dollhouse. The set comes with a hamper (really opens), swing for two, crib, potty chair and double highchair. The double highchair has a little spoon that is attached with a string- great idea! Now the spoon won't ever get lost! The crib has a toy that plays music (although the music is a little too loud and doesn't have a volume control). The set also includes bibs and pillows. The pieces include the littlest details that just make you say- How cute! The girls love playing with the set and I know they will for years to come. I would definitely recommend buying this for a dollhouse.

(More customer reviews)I got this at Toys R' Us along with every other set that is made for the Loving Family Dollhouse. My daughter is 2 and absolutely loves it, and is starting to actually "play" with it, as in making the people talk, sitting them up at the tables, etc. She loves that the bathtub's shower curtain moves and hangs one of the towels over it like we do at home. The sink is great and the toilet is, too. It has a toilet brush with it, but its attached by a string so it can't get lost! What a great idea, and all the room sets feature this. She also likes that this set has a child's potty with it. As for not having sound, I don't think sounds are necessary.. kids can create their own sounds and use their imagination. All these electronic toys these days are too complicated for me. I grew up liking the basics, Barbies, My Little Ponies, & Strawberry Shortcake, Cabbage Patch, etc.... no batteries required.

(More customer reviews)Another reviewer mentioned that the flatbed isn't wide enough to hold other trains. That's definitely true and very frustrating. You might be able to carefully balance another train on the flatbed, but it falls off as soon as you move it. My son doesn't even play with the flatbed, although he will occasionally use the crane to pull trains onto the track or along the track. Other than that, it's as well-made as all the other Thomas Wooden Railway items we have.

(More customer reviews)After researching many dollhouses in the internet, I decided on purchasing this one as my daughter's first dollhouse. Although I really liked some other houses that were made of wood, they were too expensive. I thought this was a better buy to see if she would get into playing with dollhouses seriously.
Keep in mind that there is a bit of assembly when you receive the box - The house is together, but you have to put all of the exterior trim on and the staircase.
My main disappointment with the house is that I thought it should have come with more furniture to start. It only came with the basic family (mom, dad & twin babies), a kitchen table set with 2 chairs & 2 booster seats. Thank goodness I wound up buying the extra furniture sets (bathroom, parents' bedroom, nursery & mini van). For the price, i think they should have at least included the kitchen appliances.
Also, I found that one of the folding doors in the back does not readily latch and keeps popping open when transporting the house. And the staircase gets in the way - it blocks 1/2 of the first floor! (I just leave this loose so it can be taken out easily)
Finally, why didn't Fisher-Price put in a doorbell that makes sound?! That is one of the most requested items on the house from my daughter. She would love to have a doorbell!
Oervall, this is a very durable, quality product from Fisher-Price and I think it is an excellent 1st doll house for this price range.

(More customer reviews)The Thomas train and train collections are durable toys. Their real value, though, is that playing with the toys allows children to act out the great Thomas and Friends children's stories they read and watch.
The only problem--if you can call it that--is that you can't just buy one! Your kids will want more and more. These are the most played with toys our son has. The characters are his friends, and we tell stories with Thomas, James, Gordon, and the rest of the gang.
Lady only appears in the Thomas and the Magic Railroad movie. But she is an important character, and the kids adore her. My own three-year old son was so overcome with excitement at the sight of Lady that for a long time he couldn't watch her when she first appeared on-screen and wouldn't play with her when we initially bought him this toy. She is magical, and kids pick up on that. THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL PIECE IF YOUR CHILD HAS SEEN THE THOMAS AND THE MAGIC RAILROAD MOVIE. Note that durability is an issue: the smokestack is very thin at the bottom and can easily snap off.
Purchasing recommendation:
* Choose which type of Thomas trains you will 'standardize' on. There are three kinds: This size of wooden trains from Learning Curve; larger, plastic, battery-operated trains from Tomy; and smaller, die-cast metal trains from Ertl. The wooden trains have the most products and accessories available.
* The clickety-clack (grooved to look like real railroad) track in the Thomas series is great, but it's expensive; I recommend buying generic track. ... You can literally save hundreds of dollars by buying these kinds of sets.
* Buy the Thomas and friends engines separately--and wait for sales. The kids care about the characters, so no short-cutting (ie., Brio or generic trains) here.
* Look for trains bundled with VHS videos. You can get a video and a train (on sale) for about the same price as a train alone.

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Emily Review

(More customer reviews)If your child enjoys acting out the Thomas & Friends series, then they should know that Emily is one of the friendlier engines. She is an old-fashioned engine, with large inner wheels. She is the first female steam engine, apart from Lady, who only appeared in the Thomas & The Magic Railroad movie. She was given 2 green coaches after saving Oliver and Toad when they were stuck on the tracks. Before she had her coaches, she borrowed Annie and Clarabelle from Thomas, which made all the other engines sad.
Emily was just released last year in "Emily's New Coaches" and already, she has a major role, mainly because Thomas & Friends doesn't show female engines very often. I have recommended that Learning Curve sells Emily's coaches, because I don't think Thomas will approve of Emily always taking Annie & Clarabelle!
