(More customer reviews)As a child I was given my first Barbie in 1981. She was called Star Barbie and that began my collecting. I was given Loving You Barbie by a great aunt one year for Valentines Day and I adored her from the beginning. I played with her as delicately as I did all of my other dolls and her dress was one of my all time faves. The velvet hearts and velvet bodice were a huge score!! Unfortunately this doll, along with every other one I had from the 1980's and my childhood, had their heads savagly ripped off after I moved out of my parents house in the late 1990's. I wish this barbie wasn't so expensive I would love to replace the ones I lost to whomever decided to destroy my collection. Barbie gets a bad wrap... I never thought of her as a role model instead my dolls were used to act out plays that I created. But then again I grew up in the country far from others and also in a time when children still used their imagination to play. Video games weren't in every home.

This vintage Barbie is dressed in an adorable dress with a red 'velvet' bodice. The full skirt and the ruffles on the bodice are white chiffon flocked with delightful red 'velvet' hearts. Barbie's long blonde hair is pulled back in a ponytail with some hair wrapped around the ponytail a la 'I Dream of Jeannie' . She wears sparkling 'ruby gem' earrings and a matching ring and white backless high heeled sandals.
