I know there are a lot of you out there who would easily dismiss this Banshee action figure. Lot's of people have complained about how is mouth is sculpted wide open, or he's dead, or he's not even a real X-Man. But give this figure a chance. I think we can all agree that Hasbro's first outing in the the world of Marvel Legends was less than spectacular but even Toy Biz had a learning curve to get over. His mouth is open because it directly relates to is sonic screaming power. True it would have been nice of he came included with an alternate non-screaming head, but beggers can't be choosers. As for Banshee not being a real X-Man, I'm afraid you nay-sayers have not taken the time to consider what a hero 'ol Irish was. Just go back and look at his hay-day during Cockrum, Byrne and Claremont's run on X-Men. Or more recently look to the Phalanx Covenant, or heck even read X-Men: Deadly Genesis. Banshee is nothing but a true hero that unfortunately spent many years in the dark because younger writer didn't know what to do with a late thirty to fourty something X-Man.
I am speaking with a slight bias being that I am an X-Men addict, but this guy really is a cool character. He was the only Legend of the new Hasbro wave that I actaully got excited about. He's worth the money and his cloth wings (which ARE detachable) really make him stand out. Until Xorn comes next wave this is the only new Legends figure worth a trip out to the store. Here's hoping that Hasbro makes a Thunderbird figure and we can finally have our "All Different, All New" 1970's X-Men team!
