My Pocket Farkel is about the size of the center cardboard of a toilet paper roll, making it easy to pack with you where ever you may go. Tuck it into the glove box, or your carry-on, or even your purse.
It comes with six regular sized dice, a pencil, a rolled up score pad, and instructions for how to play. And the game can be played by 2 or more players in less than a minute of instructions reading time.
It is a little like Yatzee in that you try to roll pairs, 3-of-a-kind, 4-of-a-kind, 5 & 6-of-a-kind, and straights. You must roll 500 points to get into the game. When it is your turn you must roll dice that score to be able to keep rolling. If you roll dice that don't score (a Farkel) you lose your turn and the points accumulated in that round. Every time it is your turn you want to roll as much as you can to gain points, but you have to decide when to pass the dice on so that you don't lose all your points with a Farkel. Once points are recorded on paper they cannot be lost. The first person to 10,000 is the winner, with everybody else getting a last chance to catch you. The person with the highest score over 10,000 is the winner.
It is really fun to play, easy to learn for all ages, and is a good bordom buster to take camping, or when you are traveling by plane or automobile, or the next family reunion or visit to grandma's house. It takes up very little space in your bag, and requires very little playing area.

The classic game of guts and luck is Farkel and this is the classic Farkel set. It is still small enough for portability, the game tube measures 4.5 tall and 2 wide. It includes 6 regular sized blue playing dice, a roll-up score pad, miniature pencil, and instructions. One of the world's best dice games, Farkel is a fun, fast-paced, high-score game that takes just two minutes to learn. You roll six dice, remove only the dice you want to use for points, and then re-roll the remaining dice. Some scoring dice must be removed after every roll. If you can eventually make all six dice count for score, pick them all up and keep going. If none of the dice you roll count for score, you lose your turn and any points you made during that turn. The first player to score more than 10,000 points, wins. Six dice plus feeling lucky equals Farkel! For 2 or More Players, Ages 8 and Up.
