(More customer reviews)I recently developed an interest in Kewpie dolls and this was one of two 8" dolls I bought. 8" is smaller than I expected. It is very well made with it's little pink dress and shoes. It is fully pose able. I bought it on sale at about 50% off and that's about the right price for a little doll. It stands alone on my stereo box with the other 8" Kewpie doll dressed in a peach colored dress and shoes. I enjoy the attention to details such as the tiny shoe buckles, snap closures, bows, and dainty lace. It's cuteness lifts the spirits.

Created in 1909 by Rose O'Neill, Kewpie first appeared as magazine illustrations and in advertisements. Its greates impact was achieved with the introduction of the porcelain bisque dolls and figurines, which were first sold in 1913.
