Her genuine Silkstone body adds to her originality, authenticity, and appeal. The colorful, fashion-illustrated box reminds me of the actual Barbie boxes and the fashions that I enjoyed dressing my original brunette bubblecut Barbie and other Barbies in as a child.
Even though I had to wait 50 years to own an authentic, African American, #1 Barbie dressed in a black and white bathing suit, I am happy that she arrived during my lifetime. Thank you Mattel for finally getting it right.
