(More customer reviews)First off, the doll is extremely attractive. The face sculpt and especially the eyes really work together to make the doll stand out from the crowd. This is an 18" doll, but it's more slender than Magic Attic dolls and much more slender than American Girl dolls. It cannot easily trade clothes with either. Simple Magic Attic dresses will "sort of" fit the doll, but will be a baggy. The doll's hair is a very pretty color. Most dolls with a lot of hair like this one, have the hair coated during the manufacturing process so it won't frizz up or become flyaway during manufacturing and packaging. I washed the doll's hair in the bathroom sink with a little baby shampoo and it turned out lovely--silky, shiny, and with several subtle shades of color.
The body is modeled after an adolescent girl with proportionate breasts, waist and hips. She has a few curves, but nothing inappropriate for a young girl. The torso swivels right under the breasts, at about the place where an empire waist would hit. The legs are jointed at the knee and this is the only real problem I found with the doll. The joints are clumsy and move akwardly. It's not a large issue, but I would have preferred either straight legs or a more functional knee joint, somthing not so floppy.
The clothes are trendy, but poorly made. None of the seams are finished and I do not expect they will hold up very well with strenuous play. The journal is cute, functional and was a smart addition to the doll.
All in all this is a very pretty doll. Girls will have a lot of fun with it. Other fashion packs are available, so it can function as a fashion doll as well as a play doll. The only real problem is the knee joints, but even this is not enough of a problem to take away from the fun. Hopefully future versions of this doll will improve upon the knee joint.
