(More customer reviews)I ordered this product before reading the users' reviews and was quite upset (to say the least) when I saw them; I subsequently expected to receive a useless plastic gimmick that would go the way of most contemporary electronic toys after a day or two of use (fall apart, bore its user to death, etc) I was pleasantly surprised when the Barbie video camera finally arrived. It required almost no real assembly, plugged easily into the VCR/TV, and worked perfectly. No, it isn't a REAL video camera to take to the family reunion, but it's not intended to be... nor is it priced to be. It is, however, an excellent toy for kids who want to film themselves and have their 15 minutes of fame immortalized on VHS tape, which is the toy's whole purpose. There is nothing wrong with the way it works (black and white, close-ups only), but the buyer needs to realize that it is not supposed to replace or be an actual video camera.
