Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy, otherwise known as the Beast of the X-Men, and resident super genius of the team makes the leap to the 12" Icons line and it works well. His sculpt is detailed and he's very massive.
This is the variant "lab coat" version and his coat actually looks really good considering that Marvel Legends don't normally do the whole clothing thing. His color is also the perfect shade of blue. For some reason the alternate, non-variant version is grey (EDIT - apparantly Beast was originally grey but much like the Hulk ended up changing to a more vibrant color). That and the addition of the coat and glasses make the variant better overall to me.
He is easy to stand since he has huge feet. While he does sport the usual tons of articulation this line is know for it's not all useful all the time. I did end up with one wonky shoulder joint too but at least it is hidden under the coat.
I was unable to remove the coat of mine but I have seen pictures of these with the coat off so I guess it is possible. I just didn't want to tear mine trying and it really does look good on him. Kind of like he's pissed because some bad guy, let's just say Mr. Sinister, interrupted a science experiment. He also wears glasses that look good but are glued into place so not normally removable.
He is a solid value at $15 - $17 which is his local retail.
