(More customer reviews)These DC Universe figures are very well made and durable. They aren't overly articulated (which I find makes the figure a little more fragile), so my son can play with these without legs or heads popping off. Also, the capes are attached and made of plastic/rubber material, so they don't come off or rip. They don't really stand up well on their own, but they're perfect for hand-held imaginative play. We have a lot of these DC figures, and they've all held up well. Overall, they're fun to play with and look at since all their costumes are cool!

(More customer reviews)We purchased this toy for our son's 5th birthday. When his little sister tugged the cape to grab the toy from him, the cape came off. It's not a good toy for rough play. It's better for collectors. Without Superman's cape, he's just not the same character!

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: Superman Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)As a toy doctor, I've been touching up toys for these past few years. Bought a lot of Action Figures that really met my standards yet there are a few that had to be redone. One of them is Supergirl (DC Direct's Women of the DC Universe) and fortunately enough, the other is SUPERMAN! What a pair!
Now for the review. The figure's sculpting is excellent but the paint job is really bad! First, his cape is coated with enamel paint. Sticky, gooey enamel paint! When it comes into contact with the fig the cape leaves a stain! If the cape comes into contact long enough with other figures, the enamel paint peels off! I had to stabilize the paint for it to behave properly. Then, the Figure itself is painted without shading, just plain flat painting (reminds me of old cel animation). Finally, there were the production seams on his crotch, buttocks, sides and cape (I had to remedy that too! A little sand paper goes a long way). After weeks of experimentation I did manage to match my figure's painting with one on the box. After all those modifications, I was smiling proud. I'm done!

President Barack Obama Exclusive Figure featuring Obama pulling his suit open to reveal his "Super-Obama" logo underneath. The figure was made by a small independent company in very limited quantities; when they're gone, there will be no more produced! This finely sculpted likeness of the President comes in front of a picture depiction in a clamshell package & includes a black display base. The figure is not articulated, so the arms and legs do not move. Showcase Presents 1: Superman Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)As a child in the mid-1960s, I enjoyed reading the various Superman comics, and have many pleasant memories of how my imagination soared reading those wonderful Silver Age stories. At that time, Superman was drawn by the great artist Curt Swan; and, to this day, I consider Swan's Superman the definitive comic book version of the Man of Steel. For quite some time, wanting a nostalgic keepsake of the Curt Swan Superman, I searched for a Superman action figure modeled after Swan's version, but was unsuccessful. Until, that is, I came upon the Showcase Presents Superman figure. This figure closely approximates Swan's Superman, and is well-painted and well-sculpted. In addition, the figure has an ample base featuring a plastic pin that fits into the heel of the figure's right foot, allowing the figure to stand more securely. The Showcase Presents Superman figure would certainly be a worthy addition to any Superman or action-figure collection. I particularly recommend it to anyone who, like me, has fond memories of Curt Swan's Silver Age Superman.
