This version of Boggle is not nearly as good as the classic version. If you can find back stock of the old version at some out-of-the-way toy store, get that instead. This version has much, much smaller dice, so they are much harder to see, and it doesn't work for groups of more than three or so, and will not work at all for people trying to crane their necks across a normal-sized dinner table. There is a lid that prevents the dice from getting out of the box, but that cover has almost no clearance. This means that the dice tend to stay in the same slot, and you don't have too many games pass before you're seeing the same letter combinations. It really takes the fun out of the game. Additionally, the cover is easily scuffed up by the white paint on each die, so this version has only a very short shelf life before it becomes even harder to see the letters. Yes, the incorporated timer is nice, but how hard could it have been to include one without ruining the board?
The game itself is a lot of fun, plenty of opportunities for learning to spell in English or other languages, which is why I give it 2 stars. In a competition with classic Boggle, this is a zero-stars product, no question. Possibly it would be ok as a travel game, but not for game night.
