(More customer reviews)This is a very special edition of Monopoly, based on the animated films of Walt Disney Studios. It sold for $75 to $100 new back in 2001 as a limited edition. It comes in a nice tin metal box with a tight fitting lid. The board is themed and referenced to 20 animated films. The moving pieces are all Disney characters, and they each are much large and heavier than normal Monopoly movers, big and heavy in a classy way. They each look like the statues you would see at Disneyland. The characters are: Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Mowgli from the Jungle Book, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Peter Pan, Dumbo and Sleeping Beauty.
The money is themed on Disney characters, such as Uncle Scrooge on the $500 bill. Instead of houses and motels, you have White Rabbit Cottages and Sleeping Beauty Castles. There are 28 Deed cards, 16 Magic Moment cards, and 16 Show Time cards. There are 2 insert trays to use during play and storage to keep all the pieces organized. All in all, very cool. Our family has a few monopoly games, we received this as a gift and this is the nicest I have seen. I love the prominent picture of Uncle Scrooge, Buzz Lightyear, Disney Princesses, and others on the board.
It is understandable why this game is prized by collectors today.
