My Scene Madison - Series #3 Review

My Scene Madison - Series #3

This Madison is a great doll. She has blue eyes and a beautiful shade of a pink lip. She is dressed in a green-yellow flowered ruffle skirt, a olive green halter top, a velvet coat, and a green purse to match with brown boots. The second outfit that Madison comes with is a tee shirt with two different shades of olive green and two white stripes, brown shorts, and tini-shoes. She also come with a brush and a stand.
This is a pretty doll, but they should get some better pictures of her. This doll is very durable, but it is baet that your child is at least six so she won't mess up the hair (which is fabulous by the way). The overal theme of this toy is back to school (that is most likely why her second out fit is the way that it is). This was a long reveiw, but I hope I was helpful.

Okay... I'm actually thirteen, but my computer's having problems with the regular review program, so I'm using this one. So, now I'll get on to my review!
Okay... three words: BEST MADISON EVER! Seriously, though, this girl rocks hard! Positively the most stylish of the Masquerade girls! She's surely my pick as the best of this series. She's followed by wheat-haired, best ever Barbie, then the dreamy Chelsea, and last the fun and funky Nolee.
Madison has those signature abundant, bouncy, golden-streaked curls and fabulous, mocha-hued skin. Her eyes are even more beautiful than ever, not the usual baby blues, but a soft, misty aqua, framed by lush, long lashes, making them all the more alluring. A marvelous trait for this kitty!
Her makeup is the usual soft, shimmery pallate, with a bit of shimmer above those gorgeous eyes and delicate, pink lips. She has an amazing outfit as a costume, with a metallic pink, seamed bustier with an immensly complementary brown ribbon with a nice, big bow. She has wonderful, mint green capris that gather at the bottom and pink topstitch. An adorable kitty buckle adorns the pink and brown belt. She wears a great pair of chunky, pink Mary Janes with brown stitching, and tops the outfit off with an outrageous, leopard-print duster coat with pink chinelle collar, cuffs, trim, and tail. The accessories? A silver and pink pendant, silver hoops, pink and brown kitty ears, and a pink kitty mask.
Her street costume is also awesome. An apricot, hobo bag top with matching ribbon trim and straps fits really well and is so flattering. She wears a very kicky miniskirt of medium wash, rather metallic denim and two rows of flouncy pink ruffles. She wears a cool pair of brown boots with brown stitching, and a wonderful, long, thin scarf with blue, cream, brown and pink stripes. I was sort of sad that there was no hat, so I borrowed a sassy little brown leather derby from a Chelsea outfit from Wave Two (Girl Got Game set), and Mads lost the silver hoops for the new hat. It is absolutely kickin' on her, with the pink sunnies and bronze pendant. Oh! And that great little brown and pink armband.
The rest of her awesome accessories include a pink and silver radio, an invitation to the masquerade party, furry pink and brown purse, some little makeup things, and a cute terrier puppy in a matching costume. I wish that this series came with stands, but I was able to dig one up that works, as well as others for when I get the other three. I also wish that they had bending elbows for their masks. But, she's still great. Can't say the same for the DVD, sadly! Well, no matter! This is one sassy cat!

Barbie is throwing a Masquerade Party! It's Masquerade Madness, so throw something on and come on down. We will be waiting for you.
The My Scene girls are starring in their second movie, Masquerade Madness. The gang is helping plan a benefit fashion show for the local animal shelter, and Chelsea is designing the costumes. The girls decide to throw a surprise party for Chelsea, and since they already have their fabulous costumes, what would be better than a masquerade party? Madison looks quite chic in her city kitty costume. Includes a DVD/VHS of the movie, pet with a matching outfit, second fashion outfit and lots of accessories to play out the costume party theme. Doll measures approximately 11.5" tall.

Quest Aerospace Starhawk Model Rocket Review

Quest Aerospace Starhawk Model Rocket

The Quest Aerospace STARHAWK Model Rocket is a very simple kit to build. It also is a very high performance kit as well. Our Cub Scout Pack builds model rockets every year, and each boy in each Den builds his own. The STARHAWK kit is what I have chosen as the kit that the Tiger Cubs (First graders) each build. This year, 5 boys, 15 launches and no failures. The largest rocket motor that I used for them was the B6-4 (also from Quest), and the flights were spectacularly high! Using the streamer recovery, we had some of the flights land within a 10' circle of their respective launching pad...and these were built by 7 year old boys!
Granted, Quest says that you can build this, at the launch field, in 45 minutes. I recommend that you take a little more time and use higher strength glues ... in the past, we have had people use the Elmers School Glue ... and it does not hold up well at all. Take your time, build it right, build it strong, build it safe!
As the Cubmaster, I have standardized on the Quest products - the controllers, rocket kits and the motors, since they have provided a very high level of quality for the price.
