Space Explorers: Alien Encounter figure 3-pack Review

Space Explorers: Alien Encounter figure 3-pack

The set is great - although we had some trouble actually ordering it in time for a birthday. Fortunately, we were able to get it directly from the toy company that made it. Our 8 year old son LOVES it, as he is a big fan of Roswell aliens and space toys! Very happy with the set; good value, too. Recommended for the child who likes aliens and space - and is hard to find unique items for.

Quest Aerospace Big Betty Model Rocket Kit Review

Quest Aerospace Big Betty Model Rocket Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Big Betty is the Quest version of the Estes Big Bertha, with only the three fin setup and ill-fitting nose cone to distinguish itself from the competition. There really isn't much of a competition as both rockets make excellent additions to a growing rocket fleet as a first "big" rocket. Quest gets extra points for including Kevlar as a part of the recovery system. Estes gets points for the stuffer tube that keeps the parachute from falling too far down into the body tube. The biggest Quest advantage might be in the price, as I usually see the Big Betty priced quite a bit less than her more famous sister.

Very cute doll but the batteries just last for a few days in it.I have chanced them 3 times and still the same result, after a few sentences that June says the batteries die.
But it's still very cute and my son adores her so if he doesn't care about the batteries I don't either :)

Quest Aerospace Model Rocket Launch System Review

Quest Aerospace Model Rocket Launch System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Quest has put together a launching system, which includes the electronic wiring, the launch pad, and the launch rod.
This is a good basic launching system. It uses a single 9-volt battery to ignite engines. It is a good system for most (smaller) rockets.
The pad itself is made of lightweight plastic. While very portable due to its light weight and ability to disassemble the unit, I have found the pad to be a bit unstable when a larger rocket is used. I wish there was a bit more anchoring weight to the tripod pad to make the whole pad more stable. There is no way to anchor the pad to the ground, and if you launch ontopof sod grass (instead of hard ground), the pad will not be as stable as desired. I give the launcher 3 stars because of its relative instability with larger rockets.
kone
(Update: In order to make the launch pad more stable, I drilled holes in each of the launch pod legs and now anchor the pods with spikes. This prevents the pod from moving when the rocket launches. I can also launch larger rockets because the base is stable. 4-7-11).

Quest Aerospace Starhawk Model Rocket Review

Quest Aerospace Starhawk Model Rocket
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Quest Aerospace STARHAWK Model Rocket is a very simple kit to build. It also is a very high performance kit as well. Our Cub Scout Pack builds model rockets every year, and each boy in each Den builds his own. The STARHAWK kit is what I have chosen as the kit that the Tiger Cubs (First graders) each build. This year, 5 boys, 15 launches and no failures. The largest rocket motor that I used for them was the B6-4 (also from Quest), and the flights were spectacularly high! Using the streamer recovery, we had some of the flights land within a 10' circle of their respective launching pad...and these were built by 7 year old boys!
Granted, Quest says that you can build this, at the launch field, in 45 minutes. I recommend that you take a little more time and use higher strength glues ... in the past, we have had people use the Elmers School Glue ... and it does not hold up well at all. Take your time, build it right, build it strong, build it safe!
As the Cubmaster, I have standardized on the Quest products - the controllers, rocket kits and the motors, since they have provided a very high level of quality for the price.

I'd really love that toy, when I got it at the mail her hair was sooooo soft & pretty. You should buy the Little Einsteins toy, because you can do many hair styles on her, like 1 or 2 ponytails to make it look staight, braided, or flipped. That doll is sooo adorable!

Little Einsteins June Fine Art Fashions Doll Review

Little Einsteins June Fine Art Fashions Doll

I purchased this doll yesterday from a different store for my daughter (almost 2). She loves it. We had to take it out of the package before pulling out of the parking lot!! June is cute and the perfect size for a toddler to play with and love on. The outfit she comes with is a cute mod Mondrian inspired dress. The only 2 drawbacks i saw (hence the 4 rating) were 1-this doll isn't soft anywhere but the hair, and 2-June is wearing slip on sandals, not the ballet slippers that are part of her character (i.e. dancing). Othere than these things we really like this doll.
