(More customer reviews)The Quest Aerospace STARHAWK Model Rocket is a very simple kit to build. It also is a very high performance kit as well. Our Cub Scout Pack builds model rockets every year, and each boy in each Den builds his own. The STARHAWK kit is what I have chosen as the kit that the Tiger Cubs (First graders) each build. This year, 5 boys, 15 launches and no failures. The largest rocket motor that I used for them was the B6-4 (also from Quest), and the flights were spectacularly high! Using the streamer recovery, we had some of the flights land within a 10' circle of their respective launching pad...and these were built by 7 year old boys!
Granted, Quest says that you can build this, at the launch field, in 45 minutes. I recommend that you take a little more time and use higher strength glues ... in the past, we have had people use the Elmers School Glue ... and it does not hold up well at all. Take your time, build it right, build it strong, build it safe!
As the Cubmaster, I have standardized on the Quest products - the controllers, rocket kits and the motors, since they have provided a very high level of quality for the price.
