Quest Aerospace Astra III Model Rocket Quick Kit Review

The Astra III by Quest is just like building a 'snap-tite" model kit, the difference being you can FLY this model after the glue dries! The parts are ALL pre-colored , so NO painting is necessary. Everything self aligns and the only glue used is plastic model cement! Care must be taken when installing the motor tube into the injection molded fin assembly unit, it is easy to bend or crease the edges of the motor tube if you are not careful. The brightly colored Quest parachute makes it easy to spot during recovery and the brightly colored rocket-red fins and nose cone and pre-colored bright yellow body tube provides plenty of contrast. It made me want to build some more these "Quick-Kits" real soon. Check this design and the entire series out.

Bright, bold and rugged, the Astra III is one of our best selling rockets. Part of our QUICK KIT family it features a unique all molded plastic fin can assembly. It is a great kit for groups who have already built one of our skill level one rockets with a one-piece molded fin unit like the Viper. It requires a little more skill to assemble, but still goes together easy enough. In a group building session, Astra III can be built in about 45 minutes.

Quest Aerospace Big Betty Model Rocket Kit Review

The Big Betty is the Quest version of the Estes Big Bertha, with only the three fin setup and ill-fitting nose cone to distinguish itself from the competition. There really isn't much of a competition as both rockets make excellent additions to a growing rocket fleet as a first "big" rocket. Quest gets extra points for including Kevlar as a part of the recovery system. Estes gets points for the stuffer tube that keeps the parachute from falling too far down into the body tube. The biggest Quest advantage might be in the price, as I usually see the Big Betty priced quite a bit less than her more famous sister.

As the older and slightly more experienced cousin of the Quest Bright Hawk model rocket, the Quest Big Betty is a classic model rocket kit featuring balsa wood fins and the largest diameter body tube in the Level I product line. This is one of our most popular model rockets - so if you're looking for a nice big rocket that flies like a dream... look no further!Specifications:Skill Level: OneRecovery: ParachuteFin Type: Balsa FinsLength: 23 inches (58.4 cm)Diameter: 1.58 inches (40 mm)Recommended Motors: B6-4 (QUS5741), C6-3 (QUS5743)/ C6-5 (QUS5744)Maximum Altitude: 800ft / 243m

Quest Aerospace Courier Model Rocket Kit Review

To really impress your friends, launch a raw egg in this rocket, and get it back unbroken! This is a crowd favorite at any of my outreach launch demonstrations. (Especially the kid-2-kid egg toss after the flight to prove the egg is raw.) This rocket kit is one of the easiest to build egg-carriers on the market. It will fly on really small fields with a B6-2 size motor, and impresses best when flown on the C6-3. It is a very good group project type rocket, for 4H, YMCA, schools and scouts. And it can be used as a training round for any of the TARC contest teams (Team America Rocketry Challenge) or other groups out there. It will teach basic assembly skills, and instills correct flight preparation technique. And you can serve brunch after flying with and egg-stronaut omelet.

We can't think of many other ways that you can send an egg sailing 400 ft into the air and return it safely (and in time for breakfast!) The specially designed nose capsule comes unpadded - requiring your students to experiment with various methods of protecting Mr. Egg. The Courier model rocket is a traditional balsa fin design and carries it's own parachute recovery.Specifications:Skill Level: TwoRecovery: Dual ParachuteFin Type: Balsa WoodLength: 22 inches (55.9 cm)Diameter: 1.38 inches (35 mm)Recommended Motors: B6-4 (QUS5741), C6-3 (QUS5743)/ C6-5 (QUS5744)Maximum Altitude: 900ft / 270m [without egg],450ft / 137m [with egg]

Quest Aerospace Magnum Sport Loader Model Rocket Kit Review

I built and flew this Quest rocket kit last summer. Assembly was a pleasure!
It's a good size rocket model (standing 24" tall). I finished it using the same colors shown on the package. Flights were impressive- double the amount of noise and double the amount of smoke than what you get from a single engine rocket.
It uses two parachutes. Can't say enough about how dependable the Quest Q2G2 igniters are. This one of one of my favorite rockets to launch.

Quest Aerospace Novia Model Rocket Kit Review

The Quest Novia is a great little rocket kit. It teaches all the basics, construction, the proper finishing of balsa wood fins and careful fin assembly
and alignment. I particularly liked the supplied paper cradle that supports the rocket tube while the fins are wating for the glue to dry. while not a very big rocket, only 11 1/2" long, it is sure to be a great flying rocket.
