(More customer reviews)I put off buying one of these dolls before Christmas. Then next thing I knew they were all sold out and looked like I missed my chance. Until I found this one for sale on Amazon. Which by the way happened to arrive right on my birthday so it was a special treat!

I have to say this doll is even more amazing to see in person! Mattel really outdid themselves on the design of this doll. The first thing that catches your eye is her dress, on the computer screen I thought the doll's dress was a blue color, but seeing it for myself it has this wonderful royal purple color to it, my favorite color, so that was even better!
Another thing is, it's been years since I have bought a Barbie doll, but last time I did, the African-American dolls seem to have more of a regular Barbie doll with a dark tan look to them. But they really did a nice job in sculpting this doll to give her a real ethnic appearance, she has a very pretty face.
This is a wonderful doll to get for someone, or yourself, if you're looking for something to commemorate the Millennium, which is the only one anyone alive now will ever see, I think getting this doll is one of the best ways!

Realistically they are all made the same with hair wigs that need to bebrushed gently with a wire brush offered by American girl, yet Addy is the one with the most inpsiring deep story of all of them. Felicity and Molly approach that level and Kirsten's books are just great and I loved that Rebecca is the first Jewish doll which I had been waiting for. Yet Addy was my first American girl and sstill my favorite. I believe it is time for American girl to come out with her movie and her best friend Sarah (HINT HINT). As for the doll she is 18 inches tall, chocolate skin, dark eyes, long eye lashes, her eyes close when she is laid down, long ebony hair, earrings which are gold, her meet outfit is a cinnamon pink stripped dress with black knee socks and black lace up boots and a petticoat. Her body is soft and her limbs vinyl posable. Even expensive dolls can be played iwth too much really these dolls were intended for girls 9 years old and older some might say 8 and shockingly people give these expensive dolls to 5 year olds, nothing over 50 dollars should be given to a 5 year old to play with. They will not fully appreciate it though one as young as 7 if mature could be exposed to the stories nad promised the doll if she handles her others maturely until their next birthday or Christmas. I bought her myself as an older child. All children should be exposed to Addy's books so they learn about slavery in the past and can learn about slavery exisiting all over the world now later and can learn how wrong it is and has always been no matter what the excuses were. Having alwayscared about Africa and been anti Slavery I was prone to love Addy the moment I saw her in the catalogue.

Barbie Chair Flair (2002) Review

(More customer reviews)I love the reversible chair accessory and the lip gloss, but the tiny butterfly hair clips won't stay on and easily get lost. I started out with five of them, and ended up finding only two. A plus is that the faux glittered denim outfit is sturdy-made, and looks very trendy. The optional pink long skirt works perfectly with the pink tank top. The biggest downside of this doll is her hairdo, which looks nothing like the package's picture, and is held by 3 clear plastic "rubber bands," which, if removed, the hairstyle falls completely apart. Also, this doll does not come with a comb or brush.

My favorite is November because she has orange hair like my daughter's. The June barbie has similiar characteristics of my other daughter. I would have purchased the caucasian version of this barbie but it was nearly three times as much money. Judging from the picture, the african american version had a beautiful appearance, and the picture was not deceiving. She is very pretty. I love all of them, and especially since I bought them all for $13.99, I think they are really a nice purchase. They are packaged very nicely too.

I always feel that 'slump' after Christmas when all the colorful decorations are taken down and put up until the next Holiday Season. In my older years (almost 50 years old) I have developed not only an appreciation for all the seasons but also for the various shades of blue (I have always liked warm earthtones). This Barbie Snow Sensation Doll was the perfect 'decoration' for the winter month of January to ease the letdown of taking down holiday decor. She is GORGEOUS with her white fluffy fur and snowflaked decorated dress. The snowglobe is also a very nice touch. Even if you don't care for snow, you will love this beautiful wintertime Barbie.

It is very cute and although he has not gotten to play with it yet since it is a gift he will receive soon I feel like he will enjoy it and it will hold up. My only disappointment was the HAIR. It is straight! Though I realize there can be those of African American heritage with straighter hair the doll would have looked much more like an African American baby with curly hair.

(More customer reviews)I am a little disturbed by some of the reviews I'm reading about this doll's skin tone. First of all, all African Americans are NOT the same skin tone! I'm African American and I am about 3 or 4 shades lighter than this doll. My skin tone in the African American community, is what we consider "High Yellow." So I don't get all this business about her color not being "true" African American. People please know that there is no specific African American color. African American and Latino American's represent MANY shades of Brown. I'm talking from super "high yellow" to "ebony" dark and every beautiful shade in between.

Happy Family BABY FRIENDS 1st Birthday 3 Doll Set Review

(More customer reviews)I just got this for my almost 4 year old daughter yesterday. I love the look of the little kids.....nice to be realistic and have ethnic friends instead of all blondes. It's pretty much like her preschool class. The boy is the cutest child they have ever made!
The problem we have with the toy is that the tiny kids cannot sit properly in these chairs....they fall over and their legs don't go under the table. Their shoes fall off if you take off the bulky plastic that holds them on. In real life, if this were a party for a one year old, they wouldn't be expected to sit in armless real chairs at a table either. My daughter gets frustrated trying to get them to sit correctly and ends up crying about it, saying the toy is broken. Maybe make the table one with 4 attached booster seats? Add some sippy cups and bibs?
I also wish they would make the one-year-old Nikki doll available without having to by another Midge Mom.....maybe in a playset? We would love to have the updated family but my daughter doesn't need another Barbie doll too!
Also, adding Hispanic or Asian parents to this line would be great! (or at least some Dads since we can use our Barbie friends as mothers).

(More customer reviews)This is a great Barbie for the price. Her lip liner is darker than her pale pink lipstick reminiscent of Kendra the Vampire Slayer. Her knees are jointed and bend which is no longer the standard articulation for Barbies. The accessories would be fun to a child but I really chose this Barbie because of the price and the prettiness of the doll and the outfit. I am satisfied with the strong plastic used for the dogs and am overall pleased with this purchase.
