Universal Monsters Retro Series 1 Cloth Figure Frankenstein Review

I can't say enough how wonderful these new Universal Monster Retro Series dolls are. The detail and care that went into their creation is magnificent. Frankenstein's body is fully posable - with flexible joints at wrists, elbows, shoulders, ankles, knees, hips. The head turns both directions and and torso swivels as well. This doll has no problem balancing in a standing position, sitting down without falling backward, or striking any number of other fun poses. The photos really do not do these figures justice as the attention to detail in their creation is amazing. Frankenstein's polyester clothes are just as fun as the figure itself. He has a green jacket that attaches with a small snap (a la the old Remco monster dolls of the early 80s) and a black short sleeved shirt underneath it. His brown pants are high-waisted in the style of the 1930s (which I thought was a nice touch) and they also have a small snap on the back of the waist to allow their removal. And maybe the most fun element of this great Frankenstein doll is the fact his black, plastic platform boots are also removable! You can easily take them both off to reveal the monster's strangely delicate feet. This is indeed a wonderful little creature! The exposed plastic parts of the figure (head and hands) contain lots of nice details without feeling overly articulated. I know other fans may disagree, but I prefer these "Retro" dolls over the highly articulated "Select" series of Universal Monsters that Diamond Select is also releasing. The Select figures are too "wrinkly" looking for me and they are intended for display only since they are not posable (which makes them a little less fun, I think). I feel like these Retro dolls are a great balance between cute and creepy. As a child of the 70s, they harken back to the old Mego superhero dolls I had and the Remco glow-in-the-dark series of classic monsters I got for Christmas around 1980. I still wish I held on to my old Remco monsters, but these new Retro Universal Monsters are actually even better than the Remcos. I can't wait for the release of Dracula and the Mummy. Sounds like we'll have to wait until October 2011, but I'm sure they will be worth it. I wish they would continue with this series so we can see other fiends like the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Invisible Man, the Bride of Frankenstein, and the Phantom of the Opera. If you are looking for big monster fun, I highly recommend this Frankenstein doll. No electrical current needed!

These monster high friends are just the cutest and friendliest plush dolls ever. Their pets are as adorable too. I don't care how old you are, your girl is going to love them. My daughter is 11 and thinks she's 18, but to see her with her MHF dolls is a Mom's joy. I would recommend these irresistable plushy dolls for girls of any age. They're pretty tough too.

Monster High Gloom Beach Draculaura Doll Review

yep you heard right. These are at Toys R Us for $15. Apparently the sellers have not been able to grab them all in my area. It is worth $15 and it is a fun, beautiful doll that my daughter will enjoy. I felt I paid a lot for the main dolls at $24.99 at Toys R Us but coming here makes me realize I was lucky not to get my eyes gouged or make payment by leaving a body part in exchange.
These are amazing fun dolls but they are getting a bad rap thanks to sellers here who grab the entire box as soon as they are put on shelves. Nasty way to make a living.
Wait folks. Let these people hang on to their nastily obtained inventory. After the holiday, the store shelves will be ripe with these dolls. Kids can learn to deal with a little disappointment.
