Isabel is a beautiful collector's doll. She has many small details, her face is so pretty, her dress is velvet and gorgeous and she is historically correct. Her book is awesome! I recommend reading it to get a glimpse into 1500's England, of a adventerous girl struggling to find her place in the world.

This is a 9-inch IsabelTM doll of Girls of Many Lands" which includes a doll stand and the paperback book "Isabel: Taking Wing" by Annie Dalton. This Doll was designed by the world famous designer Helen Kish and portrays a young girl,Isabel Campion, who is so excited on Christmas Eve when she will finally see her beloved brother and hear of his exciting life as an apprentice to a spice merchant. She dresses quickly in the chilly air putting on a wheel farthingale , a petticoat that stand out stiffly from her waist. Isabel"s bodice and over skirt are made from rich, soft velvet lined with gold satin and her underskirt is silk jacquard. She also wears a girdle, or belt, holds a mirror, keys, and a gen studded pomander filled with lavender to cover up the smells of the city and to protect her from disease. Her pretty hair is tucked into a snood or hairnet and Isabel"s starched lace ruff frames her face and calls attention to the gold and pearl jewelry that show that she is from a wealthy family. Isabel has adventure in mind rather than social status, and her determination leads her to the most dangerous-and rewarding-adventure of her life. -- Please note that the "Girls of Many Lands" dolls were Not made with undergarments as they were mainly made for display.
