(More customer reviews)First of all, having been an astronaut fan since I was a child, I want to say that I LOVE this action figure! The uniform and the extra equipment are fantastic, and the headsculpt is a far cry from the "stiff" look of (still much loved) GI Joe or Ken.
My only complaint (and it is really a minor one for me) is that the figure looks more like Vincent Price rather than James Fransiscus who played Maj. Brent in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes". Still, I do not regret my purchase!

Gi Joe Masterpiece Edition Action Soldier Black Original Repro 1964 Figure 12 inch Army Review

I have a huge collection and this figure is up front on the shelf. They should make all Gi Joes as great as this one.

(More customer reviews)What a thrill to see the G.I. Joe's that I grew up with in the sixties and seventies. And to be able to pass those on to my child? Just had to buy them up.
Unfortunately, Hasbro does not make em like they used to.
Simply taking the shirt off of the Joe caused his arm to snap off at the elbow.
I recall these toys being able to take much more strain and intense battle recreations.
As these were originally sold as Wal-Mart exclusives for $10.00 in Nov - Dec., 08, I would be hard pressed to spend the money they are asking for something that breaks so easily.
I did call Hasbro and told them about the problem.
They sent me a mailer to send the soldier back to them for replacement, however, they cannot guarantee that it will be the same type that I sent them.
At least they're trying.
All in all, it is good to see the long box and the soldier again. Just be careful when you play with him.

The 12" talking Indiana Jones is a nice keepsake to have if you are a fan of the Indiana Jones series. It runs on two AAA batteries. The hat is removable. The doll also has a miniature idol head from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as well as a miniature pistol and two whips (one coiled & one elongated). When you press the stomach button Indy's mouth opens once and you hear the phrases. Unfortunately the mouth doesn't keep moving to do any lip syncing with the pre-recorded phrases.
My only complaint about the doll is I wish it would include some phrases from the new film, "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull", but on second thought I just couldn't remember any memorable phrases from the new film? I also wish they could have included the phrase "This is Serious" from "Temple of Doom", but the current list is OK. Otherwise, this is a great keepsake for all Indy fans young & old.
Here' the list of all of the phrases Indy says. Note that the order of phrases do not change in any random order. Just the same order again & again.
