(More customer reviews)This, is probably the snazziest thing I own. Of course, I should also point out that Beetlejuice happens to be my most favorite movie, ever. That said, if you're looking for something that looks exactly like Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, then this isn't it--if you're looking for something that comes extremely close, then you're at the right place.
The face resembles Beetlejuice much better than any other figure I've seen--you can see the details in the eyes and the mouth, especially, and the bits of moss all along the face. The hair is a bit odd and crazy, but not necessarily in a bad way. The fingernails and hands are pretty close, too--he has watches and a ring and such. You can move the hands, arms, and head about--and even the mid-section just a bit--but there is limited mobility. The feet are big enough that it's free-standing, without any fear of it falling or collapsing over.
The costume is good, but not great--it's not quite as "dirty" as it should be, and there are instances in which the stripes aren't painted in so well, but it's nothing that you can't fix with a bit of paint to clean the edges up. There's nice detailing on and around the boots--the wrinkles in the pants are especially nice. But the best bit really is the voice feature.
He says the following lines: "It's showtime!", "Whatta we got here tonight, kids?", "Go ahead--make my millenium! Ah-haha-ha-ha!", "Learn to throw your voice! Fool your friends! Fun and party!", "Whoa! Sandworms! You hate 'em, right? I hate 'em myself!", "You bunch of LOSERS! You're workin' with a PROFFESIONAL, here!", and "Thank you! THAT is why I won't do two shows a night, babe. I won't--I won't do it."
And, all of lines are directly looped from the movie, so that they're in Michael Keaton's voice. They can be activated by an on/off switch, which is then controlled by a motion activator sensor. (On mine, the lines "Learn to throw your voice! Fool your friends! Fun and party!" and "Whoa! Sandworms! You hate 'em, right? I hate 'em myself!" kind of run together, and overlap just a bit.)
Aand, that's about it. It's not always easy to come by Beetlejuice figures--especially not ones that look all that much like him. And so I'd most certainly recommend such a thing, if it's a movie you like lots.
