Harold and the Purple Crayon Game Review

Harold and the Purple Crayon Game
Average Reviews:

This game is a hit with my 11 yr. old son, who has moderate to high-functioning autism, and also with his 4 yr. old sister. My son needs to work on his language skills, and likes to draw, so it is therapy that he likes! His sister also loves the game, and has no trouble remembering the story line as each person adds to the drawing/story board. The game/story is different each time, so it's interesting to me to play along with them. The cards with the drawings help children to expand their topics, which is an issue with most autistic kids. The gameboard wipes off better if you use a paper towel as recommended, then wipe off with a damp paper towel.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Xmas in Forest Review

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Xmas in Forest
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Every year's Playmobil Advent Calendar is a treat. The calendar basically has two parts, both revolving around 24 little playmobile animals, Santas, presents, and other Christmas-oriented toys: (1) a stand-up sheet to which parents attach 24 little boxes, one for each day of December until Christmas, and (2) a little tableau, where the kids can set up the toys as they open them. Each day, the kids get to open a box and place the toy on the tableau, setting up a scene that will be finished by Christmas Eve.

The 2008 calendar, "Christmas in the Forest," is my favorite yet. Santa is bringing presents (mostly food) to the animals of the forest, so the set has a bunch of mother and baby animals, together with Santa, a sled, and plenty of delicious treats. Playmobil did a great job with this year's calendar. If you don't have one yet, go get one and catch up!

Avatar Child's Costume, Neytiri Costume Review

Avatar Child's Costume, Neytiri Costume
Average Reviews:

The costume was very durable true to size. It also had a lot of accessories with it - a leather-like arm cuff, beads and feathers to complete the look. I just had to buy makeup and braid my daughter's hair. She definitely had the best costume of anyone I saw on Halloween. The only thing I would change is to use it more during the day so more people could have seen it. It was too good to show off at night only.

Squinkies Bubble Pack - Series One Review

Squinkies Bubble Pack - Series One
Average Reviews:

Yes, kids LOVE them. We did too, as children...when we got them out of gum ball machines for a penny! The little plastic ball containers are flimsy and hard to close for little hands. The toys themselves are very tiny and unless you have the world's tiniest pencil...well, they won't fit on the head of any pencil I have. My daughter liked them, played with them for a whole 15 minutes, but truthfully, lost half of them by the end of the day (they are small) and had a very hard time closing the containers, as I said. The pack I bought cost 10 dollars, with 12 of the Squinkies in them. By the time we got home (1/2 hour) she had lost 3 of them in the car...still haven't found them yet! Ok, so kids lose toys, especially small ones, and that's not the fault of the company...however, what made me angry was the realization that these were nothing more than gum ball machine toys with fancy name and new packaging and I spent 10 good American dollars on stinky toys from China. That bothered me.
