(More customer reviews)Better than expected! The metal is solid and thicker than it appears in the photo and won't get bent out of shape. The trundle bed/drawer is not attached, simply stores under the daybed. The coverlet is printed cotton with a satin ruffle around 3 sides (the two long sides and one short side), so it can be used as a cover when the doll is in bed. My daughter puts both of her dolls to sleep here at night, then sits them on it during the day. A quilted placemat works perfectly as the second doll's quilt. Sturdy yet light enough for my 8 yr old to carry throughout the house. Highly recommended!

(More customer reviews)We have had our Groovy Girl hangout for a while now and love it! It has been my daughter's constant "soft doll" house -- which she uses for her Groovies, Barbies, Only Hearts Club and other dolls of that size.
The colors are bright and funky, and with the bed, chairs, dining area and desk, it gives so many options for play. It has lasted a good while (2+ yrs), which speaks to Manhattan's quality, and only the chair with the stem base has been broken (my son tried to rest his fist in it...it's just a cardboard base -- doesn't work so good for punching...). It comes highly recommended. With the amount of accessories that come with it, it's good for countless hours of play -- it certainly has in our house!

(More customer reviews)When my daughter asked for a doll crib for her 7th year birthday, I spent a lot of time researching. After reading all the reviews, I decided to buy this one for the fact that it looks pretty and it is made of solid wood. I wanted something that last. However, when I opened the package, I was very surprised to find out that there are scratched paint on one piece, and cracks on two other pieces. I was reluctant to accept it initially. However, I did not want to dissapoint my daughter. I still assembled it. Although the instruction said "Assembly in minutes", it turned out to be very difficult for one side. I am not a pro but avergae in my assembly skill, and I did even out all sides before tightening. It was clear to me that this is due to the impefection of the product rather than the assembler. Once assembled, it does look very pretty as expected. I just feel that I paid dearly for a not too perfect product. Is it just bad luck or some indication of the product quality? The product was packaged very nicely, so the defects are unlikely due to the shipment. I'd rate the design as 5 stars, the quality as 2 stars. Since the price is relatively high, overall is 3 stars.

I would recommend this to your doll lover. The only negative aspect is that you cannot take the cover off and wash it. Otherwise, it is a good product.

(More customer reviews)My daughter and I both think the Groovy Girls are waaaay groovy and oh so beautiful. The bunk beds have proven themselves to be extremely durable. My 50 lb. daughter sat on them a few times while stacked before I caught her. They withstood her weight and maltreatment without suffering any apparent damage. By the way, the canopy is gorgeous and very fun too--we just got one canopy to go atop the bunk beds vs. one for each, and it's worked out great. These are pricey, but the quality, creative beauty, and durability is worth it. Some day when my daughter is tired of them, I hope she'll let me have them. :)
