Folding Wooden Horse Stable by Melissa and Doug Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased this horse stable for our daughter (7 1/2 yrs). She had played with my niece's barn (made by Breyer) and had asked for one for Christmas. The Breyer barn was too expensive so I chose this one. I am glad I did as this seems better designed and constructed. As none of these toys is inexpensive, I was also concerned that this might be too young for her. I am happy to say that this was the star attraction on Christmas morning. She and my son (5 yrs.) have played with it every day since Christmas. It is a great design (they love to open all the doors or let the horses heads peak out) and seems to be very well-made. I do recommend buying extra fencing for the corral (Breyer makes it) as the one that comes with it is a little short. Also, we did buy some of the Breyer horses from Target. I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it. We have several products from the Melissa and Doug company and all have been well-designed and of high quality.

Olivia 2 - in 1 Playset Review

(More customer reviews)This is my daughter's new favorite toy. On the one side, Olivia's house comes with furniture and appliances, plates of food and minor accessories like a book, a lamp, etc. It is cute and fun and my daughter absolutely loves playing with and arranging the furniture "just so" and moving Olivia around.
On the other side, though, is where the adventure begins. The pirate ship is the highlight (as far as my daughter is concerned) of the toy. She can sail the Seven Seas with Olivia (complete with pirate hat and eye patch), a treasure chest, treasure map and parrot. My daughter has so much fun switching from house to pirate ship, and back again. This is such a fun toy both for my daughter and for myself....it's fun to get caught up in playing with my daughter when we've got this playset out.
Now for the cons: I do agree with one of the other reviewers above in that it is kind of disappointing that this playset only comes with Olivia. We went and bought Olivia's family to go with this playset, but it would have been nice if we didn't have to do that. Also, on the pirate side, the palm tree is made of cardboard. Putting the palm tree in its little slot (to stand it up) and then removing it again over and over.....well, this palm tree lasted a week before my daughter ended up ripping the leaves from the trunk. It would have been nice if the palm tree had been made of plastic (like every other accessory in this playset.) It would have been more durable and certainly would have looked better. If I had thought of it, I would have had the palm tree laminated before I gave it to my daughter.
Overall, this is an excellent toy for fostering imaginative play and has provided both my daughter and me with hours of playtime and has given me some special memories of playing with my daughter that I will cherish. I don't necessarily consider this an "educational" toy per say, but the "fun factor" of this playset is absolutely out of this world. Even after she outgrows this toy, I will probably hang on to it for sentimental reasons. :-)

Melissa & Doug Fold & Go Barn Review

(More customer reviews)My girls; 4,3,&1 years old; received this for Christmas. It's been a hit. Nothing has broken, even when being played with by 5 horse crazy girls. I purchased Schleich horses to go with it, and most (just not the biggest draft type horses) fit perfectly inside. The animals that came with it are fine, but a few of them are pretty scary with orange/red eyes. The animals I remember coming with it were horse, pig, cow, dog, and turkey. HTH
We've had it now for more than 4 years and it is still played with by our now 8, 7, 5, 2, & 1 year olds. The hinge was finally torn, but was easily replaced. Holding up great.

Fold and Go Dollhouse, by Melissa & Doug Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this dollhouse for my granddaughter to use when she is visiting, or for her to take on trips. Her Mom said she didn't have enough room for a dollhouse in their home, so we asked if we could buy one and have her come over to our house once in awhile. Everytime she walks in, she gives us hugs and kisses and then heads straight for her table with the dollhouse. We will probably buy a larger dollhouse, and use this one for trips, the house is durable, but the furniture is glued and will come apart.

Little People Fun Sounds Rescue Station Review

(More customer reviews)The Little People Rescue Garage includes the garage, two pieces of fencing, an ambulance, a medic Little People, a small fire truck, and a fireman Little People. These items are wonderful to fill out your Little People city. Durability seems very high. Educationally it is high because you can teach your child who the firemen and medics are.
Both cars are a perfect smaller size that is easier to steer than the bus or minivan. The fencing pieces fit perfectly in size with any of the fencing pieces from other sets. (The zoo, for example.) The actual garage has two yellow buttons on top. When a button is pressed, the door below pops open and a siren will wail. The same action happens with the other button and door, but the siren is for fire instead of ambulance. However, the buttons are somewhat difficult to press for younger children; my 2 ½ year old can barely push them all the way down.
Overall, this is a GREAT toy for the price. The cars make all the difference; my daughter loves to play with them. Enjoy!

Fisher-Price Grow with Me Kitchen (Exclusive) Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this kitchen last Christmas for our daughter when she was 16 months. She has loved it! We have now increased the height and she continues to play with it on a daily basis.
However, the durablity of this product is poor as far as the electronic components are concerned. It just suddenly stopped working and replacing the batteries did not solve the issue. I will add that Fisher Price was willing to provide a new toy, but I had to pay to ship the entire kitchen back first. A new toy would arrive in 6-8 weeks! Are you kidding!! Who is going to take their child's favorite toy away for 2 months? I might add that we had the same issue with the Laugh and Learn House. It seems that Fisher Price has durability issues with their electonic components. For this reason I cannot recommend their products.

Other reviewers mentioned that the glitter falls off of the horse--I noticed a little but nothing that wasn't easy to clean up. This had just the right amount of accessories for my daughter to pick through and play with, without a lot of extra clutter. I was very pleased with this product.

They have survived being beat, smashed, washed, combed and dried more times than I can count. They even survived being dragged outside through the mud by the dog and came sparkling clean. They are the #1 most popluar bath toy...so much so that when their hands got chewed off by the puppy, Grandma had to scramble to find another set! This comes with a hair-twisting device which is completely useless. You might as well throw that away. The dolls are pretty and my daughter has really enjoyed playing with them. The quality seems to be above average for this type of toy. This comes with one doll-body and two heads. Plus, a lot of little accessories.
