Tonner Dolls Galadriel Lady Of Light, Lord Of The Rings Review

Tonner Dolls Galadriel Lady Of Light, Lord Of The Rings
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the first Tonner doll I have ever owned because I could never afford to buy one. Since I got some money for Christmas, I decided to splurge and get this one because I am a big fan of Galadriel. I was not disappointed when I got her. The costume is beautiful and detailed. The dress is not exactly the same as the movie dress, but it is close and is made of nice fabric. The boots are fabric and are just like the ones Cate Blanchett wore in the movie. The crown on this doll is actually metal, and is very close to the design of the original, though some of the gold parts on mine look a bit faded. The brooch is plastic but is the exact design of the movie brooch. I personally don't think she looks like Cate Blanchett, but the face is still beautiful.
The packaging of this doll is different from any other doll I have bought. The box is like a shoebox, so in order to see the doll, you have to open the box. I try to keep my collectibles in mint condition, but this doll is too beautiful to leave inside a black box all tied up. If I have the money in the future, I plan on purchasing the Tonner Arwen doll as well.

LOTR-TRILOGY-FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING-SERIES 2- LEGOLAS Review

LOTR-TRILOGY-FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING-SERIES 2- LEGOLAS
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A handsome prince of Mirkwood forest, the fair Elf Legolas journeyed to the land of Imladris (Rivendell), taking part in the council of Elrond to determine the fate of the One Ring. He was chosen as one of the nine to set forth on a quest to destroy the One Ring, and his skill in battle quickly proved his necessity! He was also renown for forming an otherwise unheard-of friendship with the Dwarf Gimli.
Legolas comes dressed in the armor given him for the battle at Helm's Deep, with his bow of Lorién (complete with a stock of five arrows from Rohan), his new Rohan sword, his oh-so-cool double blade-knives, and a look of determination on his face. His long cloak is permanently attached, as are his Rohan armor, his sword-sheath, and his quiver. His Rohan sword fits nicely into the sheath that hangs at his side, and his two knives fit into sheaths on his quiver. His Elvish hair is slightly slung in front of his face, to make him look action-oriented.
His heels, his knees, his arms, his elbows and his hands all move freely to create a vast array of cool Legolas poses. (Slashing Orc with his blades, in the middle of drawing his sword, drawing an arrow from his quiver, or just standing there looking cool are some of the ones I've experimented with) His Lorién-bow has its Elvish inscription on it, and can actually shoot the arrows! Legolas's action-figure hands do not have the strength to create the "about-to-fire-an-arrow" pose, but you yourself can fire an arrow. (Just make sure you know where you're shooting, and that you won't lose the arrow!) The high-quality detail (His blades are engraved with the Elvish inscription, his arrow tips are detailed with some sort of serpent-head type carving, and his leaf-brooch, a gift from the Elves gleams on his neck) definitely makes it worth the price!

"This incredibly detailed, fully poseable action figure is based on the Lord of the Rings Triolgy. The combination of laser-scanning technology coupled with intricate sculpting has flawlessly captured the likenesses of the actors, their costumes and weapons. This Legolas figure comes with authentic character-dedicated accessories, dagger-slashing and arrow-launching action! "

Barbie as Galadriel in Lord of the Rings Review

Barbie as Galadriel in Lord of the Rings

I just got mine (and sent them out as presents at this price!). The doll is stunning. I really loved the pair put out last year from Return of the King, but the addition of Galadriel and Legolas really complete the set. She is stunning, almost shimmers with her Faery quality. The stretch mess gown really seems light as if made of Elven material. Frankly, the picture of Amazon is displaying falls way short of showing how beautiful this doll is. Galadriel is just beautiful, so I would advise grabbing this one up while supplies last. Will make a wonderful birthday or Christmas gift.

Inspired by the first film in the mythic trilogy, Barbie as Galadriel in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" wears an exquisite stretch mesh gown. Decorations include a "shell" medallion and glittery satin ribbon belt. The shoes and crown complete the beautiful costume, and her long, flowing hair covers her pointed elven ears.

This toy is fantastic. It is my favourite Lord of the Rings figure and I have 19! The detail on Theodon's armour is beautiful and his face is just like the actor. His sword is also brilliantly rendered.

Smeagol (Re-Issue) Review

Smeagol (Re-Issue)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This figure is Toy Biz's take on Sméagol, the Hobbit that was turned into Gollum when he succumbed to the power of the Ring, as he appears in The Two Towers movie.
It's a two-piece set, the figure and an Electronic Sound Base. The figure is a vivid representation of the computer-generated character from the movie. It's not a traditional hard plastic figure, but a bendable figure, molded in soft rubber with inside wires for an endless variety of poses. The paint job is remarkable, pale and pink stipples on his skin give a realistic impression of a delicate, unhealthy flesh. And the amount of details for such a simple creature is extraordinary: you can clearly see the wrinkles on the palms of its hands, the lashes on its back, the thin strands of hair on his head, the irises of his eyes, the fibers on his loincloth and even the outline of almost every bone and tenuous muscle underneath his frail skin.
The Electronic Sound Base on the other hand is made of hard plastic, and it simulates a salient of rocks with vines and a dead twisted tree branch. When you push a button neatly disguised as a stone it plays one of the two alternate recorded phrases, "Nice Hobitts" or "Sméagol," in the voice of Andy Serkis, the actor who voices both Sméagol and Gollum in the movie trilogy. And although the base doesn't have pegs to secure the figure by its feet, it has plenty of space for the figure to stand on without fear of having it suddenly tumble down.
I should also point out that this is the same figure that was released for the Return of the King series under the name of "Gollum with Authentic Movie Phrases," the only difference between the two is the face sculpt, whereas Sméagol displays a frivolous look underlined by madness, Gollum wears an evil grin wrapped in hatred for his Hobbit companions and desire for the Ring.
This is the best Sméagol figure so far, and it looks especially good displayed alongside Frodo and Sam, so don't wait too long to add it to your collection.

Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring ARAGON 12" Action Figure (2002 Toy Biz) Review

Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring ARAGON 12 Action Figure (2002 Toy Biz)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Of all the twelve inch series they have released so far, Aragorn has the best clothes. The fit and proportion is perfect. Arwen's was too bulky and Gandalf's too poofy. They look appropriately frayed and besmeared. He really does look like he's been sleeping in ditches for months! Even his face is smudged with dirt. One problem; his hands look too clean! Maybe Aragorn is a compulsive handwasher.
He comes with his sword and sheath, a bedroll slung across his back and a cloth that looks like it could be used for wiping his sword.
His ring is decaled on his hand. I would have liked to have seen it molded and painted instead.
He is fully articulated. I don't know why they didn't do the double articulated shoulders like they did on Gandalf. It enables the figure to be put in very natural looking poses. Aragorn's shoulder motion isn't quite as natural.
The sculpting of the face and hair is excellent. It puts other makers of movie figures to shame. I remember reading about the difficulty they were having getting a good digital scan of Viggo Mortensen's face because of his beard. They found a way around it. I think the likeness is good.
I have two gripes: On of the attachments to his sword sheath popped off right away and there's this strange green stitching on one of his sleeves like they accidentally picked the wrong color of thread.
I spite of the little gripes this figure is of a much better quality than what is offered for other movies that I've seen.

Heir to the Throne of Gondor, Aragorn has spent long years in exile wandering the wild. Known only as Strider, a Ranger of the North, he has kept a constant vigil against the servants and spies of the enemy. 12" Lord of the Rings Figure: Gimli Review

12 Lord of the Rings Figure: Gimli
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a number of the other figures in the 12 inch series. I would have said Gandalf was the best until I got Gimli. His hair is sculptured rather than rooted. I guess they learned from the wild mane they gave Gandalf. He comes complete with a dwarvish scowl that would curdle milk and that stooped posture from the movie. Unlike Gandalf and his hat, Gimli's helmet stays on. He comes with a Moria battleaxe but none of his other axes.
The detail in his costume is superb. They used a black cloth with silver threads to approximate his chain mail. He has those braided straps and his fancy belt buckle. Vinyl coated cloth with an intricate design printed on it is used for the busy looking leather on his upper arms. It looks really good. They added some bulk to his costume to get him proportioned right. He really looks like the photo in Gary Russell's book, The Art of the Fellowship of the Ring. (Which, incidentally is available from Amazon)
He is the one figure in the series that can stand on his own. He has a ball joint waist and fewer points of articulation in his legs.
His boots and gloves permanently attached. The sculpting on them and his helmet shows real artistry.
I would have liked to see them include his axe collection. In the movie the guy rattled like a tinker's cart with all of the hardware he was toting.
My one and only real complaint is they made his eyes blue instead of brown.... Still I can't get over how much he looks like the character in the movie.

Lord of the Rings Frodo with Drawn Sword - Fellowship of the Ring Review

Lord of the Rings Frodo with Drawn Sword - Fellowship of the Ring
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I really like this Frodo figure.First,it's a toy before
it's a collector's statue- the sword fits in the figure's hand
in a nice way,the arms and legs can move decently without spoiling the look of the figure, and it isn't fragile for a kid
to play with like recent figures aimed more at collectors.Like
the recent Star Wars figures, this one achives balance between
collectable value and toy value.
Second,it's pretty neat- it really looks like Elijah Wood
(the actor in the movie),has a fairly decent painting job and
has a well sculpted body (that means, you won't get any ultra- muscular Frodo here, unlike *old* Star Wars toys.)
Finally,if you are a parent reading this trying to decide
wheter or not you should buy this figure to your kid,I can
offer you this:I understand all the concern about violence in
a kid's playground, but the message here is more about what's
right to do:The lord of the rings is an extremely moral story,
and this is Frodo, the good guy who will overwhelm any evil
temptation in the end to remain good.A nice toy to have!

The Two Towers 6" Figure: Aragorn Review

The Two Towers 6 Figure: Aragorn
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
An awsome toy. Its a action figure you want to buy if your collecting LOTR action figures. It Goes real well with the other battle of Helms Deep figures.
The weapons are cool. His elven knife given by Celeborn is cool. His Dunedain Ranger sword is also cool but sometimes the black paint comes off and leaves black marks on the figures hands. I gave it four stars for educational because it has a great paint job. It totaly shows what Aragon looked like in the battle of the Hornburg. (Helms Deep)
A definate buy for Aragon fans. A good toy. Be careful with the sword. It can bend but I have never seen one break.
A Definate buy!!

The Lord of the Rings: Return Of The King Deluxe Poseable Figure: Aragorn Review

The Lord of the Rings: Return Of The King Deluxe Poseable Figure: Aragorn
Average Reviews:

So far I think this is the best Aragorn toy yet. (Of course the painting in the face of each individual doll can vary) but overall the likeness is beautiful and so is the detail in the costume & weapons. This is the 11" ROTK Aragorn not to be confused with the 12" Aragorn doll. From what I've seen of the 12" in stores it's just the Fellowship Aragorn 12" repackaged in a new blue box--but the picture on Amazon seems to suggest that it's a different doll--so I'm not sure if it has been changed or not. Be wary. The 11" however is completely new and I definitely recommend him to any fans. I also bought the 11" Legolas who is also lovely and far superior to last year's large-jawed 12" Legolas doll.

This is a really cool item from the LOTR Roto Action Figure Series. I own the Ringwraith and loved it, so I decided to pick up the figure of my second favorite character, Gimli! Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Coronation Gift Pack Review

Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Coronation Gift Pack
Average Reviews:

Here's a quick description of the figures...
Eomer - repack, but excellent sculpt. Exquisite Rohan detail. (If you cut the back of his skirt in half, he can ride Arod.)
Aragorn - repack, but excellent sculpt. Exquisite New-Numenor/Gondor armor detail. But he's missing his Ring of Barahir. (If you cut the back of his skirt in half, he can ride Brego.)
Faramir - new figure, excellent sculpt. Comes with the same sword and scabbard that was with him in the Gondorian Armor action figure. His legs look like they came from Boromir, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Arwen - a repaint of Galadriel's body. Exquisite detail on her crown, slippers on her feet. The dress's sculpt is a bit twisted and risks looking too short for her. Her face looks extremely droopy; it's not as good a sculpt as that of Arwen in the grey chase outfit.
Eowyn - the best figure of the pack, surprisingly. Exquisite detail in the dress, excellent sculpt. (Strong possibility for customization: paint her dress white, and you've got the White Lady of Rohan standing on top of Meduseld.)
Toybiz needs to make more gift packs like these. (Suggestions: Council of Elrond, Farewell at Rivendell [with a new Arwen in the purple outfit and other elves], Transformation of Theoden [with Eowyn in white], Farewell at Lothlorien/Grey Havens [with new Galadriel], the Elves' three rings scene, etc.)

Moria Orc Review

Moria Orc
Average Reviews:

This is THE best orc out. Is sculpt is great, and his paint is mindblowing. The paint gives great rust, metal and dirt effects. Not to mention the gloss used on the eyes and teeth.
His accessories are super-wickedawesome-amazing. The helmet looks great when on, and the sword and sheild have a very crued orc-look to them.
He can only strike a limited amount of poses, but they are all cool, and they give him a very authentic look. Also, he doesn't have an action feature, and I would call that a GOOD thing.
If you don't have this Orc, buy him. He's the best one to date.
