This is a cute one-off toy linked to the excellent book. The plush toy seems fine, but I was disappointed that it only says one thing: "Let me drive the bus!", recorded by an adult male, sort of in meltdown mode. It would have been better if they included more quotes.

I love this girl version of the Elf on the Shelf, and bought it for my daughter last year. It is an absolute favorite tradition in our house. My daughter still talks about it and keeps asking when the elf is coming to stay. My husband had a lot of fun with her and making up stories about the elf on a daily basis and the funny places I found it daily (this elf mysteriously moves around the house to keep an eye on all of us). We used it not only as inspiration for our daughter to be on her best behavior but it kept us - parents - in line, too!! Kids aren't the only ones who get crabby, ya know?

Harold and the Purple Crayon Game Review

Harold and the Purple Crayon Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is a hit with my 11 yr. old son, who has moderate to high-functioning autism, and also with his 4 yr. old sister. My son needs to work on his language skills, and likes to draw, so it is therapy that he likes! His sister also loves the game, and has no trouble remembering the story line as each person adds to the drawing/story board. The game/story is different each time, so it's interesting to me to play along with them. The cards with the drawings help children to expand their topics, which is an issue with most autistic kids. The gameboard wipes off better if you use a paper towel as recommended, then wipe off with a damp paper towel.

This is a great toy (especially if you have the pigeon books). The only flaw is that there is no way to turn off the ability to get it to scream "Let me drive the bus!"

Chester the Raccoon from Audrey Penn's The Kissing Hand 12" Review

Chester the Raccoon from Audrey Penn's The Kissing Hand 12
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this stuffed animal along with the book The Kissing Hand for my daughter who was having a hard time adjusting to school. I thought the raccoon would be a tad smaller so she could sneak it in her backpack to feel like she had a piece of home, but it's bigger than I thought. Still, she does bring it in her backpack & sleeps with it. It's been her favorite for the past month now and has helped her deal with going to School for the first time.

Harry the Dirty Dog 10" Soft Toy Review

Harry the Dirty Dog 10 Soft Toy
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My husbands favorite childhood book, Harry the Dirty Dog was given to my oldest son 28 years ago by his Grandmother. This year, we had our first grandson and in turn, he was presented with the book by me. We were thrilled to find the plush Harry to give our little guy on his first Christmas. He matches the personality of his literary counterpart to the tee. I know the stuffed Harry will be loved as much as the story. So happy to have found this little treasure to add to the charm Grandpas faviorite storybook!

Ladybug Girl Review

Ladybug Girl
Average Reviews:

While out shopping tonight, the cover of this book caught my eye from across the store. I read it simply because I love ladybugs but found it to be most delightful (ladybugs or not)! How cute to add a "super hero" twist to her plight. The illustrations are great! As someone who was very petite for her age as a kid and constantly being told by everyone that she was "too little" to participate in various activities, this story really appealed to me, as I'm sure it will to other children in similar situations. I wish I had had this book as a kid for that very reason. The little girl reminds me of so many little ones I see nowdays who insist on wearing their Halloween costumes out in public for weeks on end. And, I love her little sidekick! I'm definitely adding this to my "must have" list for my baby nephew! Because of the super hero concept and the feats she performs, I think this book will appeal to most children even though the protagonist is a girl. And, it not's too terribly wordy, so most younger children should be able to maintain their attention throughout the story. It's simply delightful!

Story Reader Special Edition Disney Princess Set with Musical Jewelry Box Review

Story Reader Special Edition Disney Princess Set with Musical Jewelry Box
Average Reviews:

I had resisted buying this for a while but finally caved in and got it for my three year old at Christmas. She loves and enjoys it, we read it together and I feel proud that my daughter actually has her first kiddie audio book which is actually audio and visual all at once. At first, I was concerned it would be doing my job for me, reading to my child. But I still read other books to her that are not in story-reader format and she particularly enjoys the sound effects it provides. I recently ordered more story-reader books from amazon yesterday, showing how much of a great buy I consider this to be. The product comes highly recommended.
PS: At first, I thought one of her story-reader books was faulty because we would turn a page and it wouldn't pick up or it would read the wrong page. I then realized that it worked perfectly fine if we fully opened up the device and laid it flat either on the floor or on someone's lap. My little girl enjoys turning the pages herself now.
The musical jewelry box that came with it was not as much of a great buy as it is faulty and the singing skips. I have not located where I can change the battery on it.

My kids just received this Thanksgiving day as a gift and I am now ordering them for every child I know. It is such a cute idea. Santa sends the elf to watch the children and then the elf reports to Santa every night and comes back to a different spot in the house. My kids wake up with a running start to see who can find the elf first. The kids must name the elf and they really enjoyed that as well. It is such a nice tradition to help make the Christmas Season even more fun and special. I know it will be with our family for a very long time.

Winning Moves Uncle Wiggily Game Review

Winning Moves Uncle Wiggily Game
Average Reviews:

Uncle Wiggily has the same appeal as a Dr. Seuss book. The characters are whimsical, the art appealing, and the rhymes help struggling readers. As a high school English teacher, I sometimes get asked by friends to help their children who are having trouble learning to read. I always bring out my Uncle Wiggily game, which has been in my family for about 30 years. Now I am delighted to be able to buy a copy for a friend's family, whose children always ask to play the game when they come over. Call it nostalgia or call it Peter Pan Syndrome...I still enjoy the game myself!
