BARBIE NUTCRACKER THE SUGARPLUM PRINCESS Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My almost-three-year-old loves ballerinas and princesses, so a Barbie that combines the two is her idea of heaven. We got this doll after watching the "Barbie In The Nutcracker" video a month ago, and she's played with it almost every day since. She really enjoys pushing the stand to make Barbie twirl (though she has a little trouble posing Barbie on the stand and usually asks for help). I like that the tights and ballet slippers are attached - less work for me keeping them in place. It's also nice to have a book component - I can suggest that we read the book together instead of watching the video over and over. My only complaint is that the multiple arm, leg and waist joints that let you pose Barbie so prettily also make her very floppy when she's not on her stand. (If you hold her in your hand, she falls backward like a marionette.) All in all, though, this is a lovely Barbie that any little girl is sure to enjoy.

Dora the Explorer: Magic Friends Singing Dora Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 2 year old daughter received this doll for her birthday last week and she loves it. She has fun pressing her hand, and alternating the different objects in Dora's other hand. Dora sings, and asks you to exchange the object in her hand.
I have a few problems with this toy though. THe taped voice is difficult to understand, and even I have trouble understanding the clues Dora gives you. I also don't like the way the pants covered the battery compartment- they could spare a little more fabric. Also, since Dora is known for carrying her backpack around, why wasn't this doll diven a backpack to hold all the objects. It's just a matter of time before we lose a piece.
An additional note to parents of Dora fans- if you get enough of the Dora talking toys, you find that they all say about the same thing. This is good as far as a repetetive learning thing, but it makes me refrain from buying too many Dora electronic toys.

Yottoy Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus Figure - 11.5 Inches Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a cute one-off toy linked to the excellent book. The plush toy seems fine, but I was disappointed that it only says one thing: "Let me drive the bus!", recorded by an adult male, sort of in meltdown mode. It would have been better if they included more quotes.

Olivia 10" Gund Plush Olivia 75100 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Not another soft toy, this: Olivia is a character from a small series of books about amazingly human-like girl-piglet. No exagerration there - Olivia stories are perhaps the most thoughtful, subtle and incisive illustrated books for children published in a decade.
The man behind the image of Olivia, Ian Falconer, is of theatre design background and not what you may call a trained children's book illustrator. Rather than illustrating a narrative, the stories are built around the image of Olivia, her mother and her brother - and the image itself is incredibly accomplished, perfected and developed in a remarkably professional way.
So it is amazing to see now how this image was transformed into the shape of a toy - make no mistake, this is not an easy task. You have probably seen many cartoon characters who became dull three-dimensional imitations of themselves when toys were made: a lifeless computer-generated shape, with no name other than "merchandise". That's all they are.
Olivia is different. She's beyond cute, and is likely to become one of your child's favorite cuddly toys, treasured for years and years.

Barbie & the Three Musketeers Secrets & Surprises Castle Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We just bought this toy and put it together today. My 5 year old loves it. It is very cute, although not super sturdy, but that is expected for this type of plastic toy. It stands well but when two or more kids get together to play with it, it may wobble enough to knock the pieces over. The castle itself stands fine, but may work best against a wall. The stairs/slide is such a great piece of this castle, it is a lot of fun! The kitty that comes with it, can slide down the banister/railing all by itself, really fun! The pieces are cute although could have been a bit bigger to fit the dolls more comfortably on them. If they made an indent in the chairs the dolls would be able to sit better. The scenes are really nice, they compliment the castle nicely. It was super easy to put together since there isn't a whole lot to snap on, just the stairs, the headboards for the bed and a few other pieces. My 5 year old could do it herself. We got ours on sale for $60 so I think at that price it was worth the money.

Playmates The Land Before Time Large Plush Toy Chomper Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I got this for my niece for Christmas last year and everything my sister said has been good. I paired it with the movie since she's only 2 and it was a big hit. Nothing fancy about this toy to add educational value. It is bigger than I thought it would be which is a bonus. Priced very nicely :) I'd say if you're getting the movies, which I grew up watching, for your little one then this is a great pairing!

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this for my 2-year old, not only because he's a fan, but because the little green guy is so cute, soft and the perfect size for my son to tote along. On top of that, he talks ( a few phrases) and sings (There's a Party in My Tummy). My son loves playing the song (button is in one of Brobee's hands). Great quality for the price.

Shen the Panda w/ Signature Outfit and Book Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My son received Shen a little over a month ago and it has quickly become his favorite! It is nice to have a "doll" which can be dressed that is fun for boys. My only complaint is that the pants tend to slide down when Shen is being played with. The outfits are pretty cute (I like the ones for Zylie a little better). Though all that is not important important to my 4 1/2 year old son. He sleeps with Shen tucked under his arm every night!!

Disney's The Lion King: Interactive My Singin' Simba Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 4-year-old daughter received this for Christmas. She loved it - she had been asking for it for about 2 months. It broke after one week. It wouldn't sing or dance, even after installing fresh batteries. We had a gift receipt, so we took it back to Toys R Us & exchanged it. The second one broke after only a few days. My daughter is not unusally rough with it, so there isn't anything we're doing to make it break. I e-mailed Disney to just see if there were any known issues with this product, like defects, etc. Their response was that they couldn't help me in any way because it was purchased from a 3rd party. I went back to Toys R Us again to exchange it for the second time and believe it or not, it broke in the car on the drive home. I even tried to change the batteries & reset it by turning it off & on again, but nothing worked. I cannot believe how poorly this toy is manufactured. I have never been so dissatisfied with a toy.

Barbie Fairy Merfairy Playset Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 4YO loves Mermaidia and loves this Merfairy house. She now has the Elina mermaid doll, 2 merfairies and this house. With these items, she is able to play Mermaidia all day long. The Merfairy playset is really cool and has some neat features. There is the swing that you can put a merfairy in, or her pet. The shell elevator that the merfairy can sit in. A pretend sand castle with bucket and shovel, shell steps that lead into the merfairy playset, and a merfairy bed and vanity. Visually, very pretty and colorful, a little underwater world for your little girl's room. I highly recommend this to complement any of the mermaidia line you may have.
