(More customer reviews)My eleven-year-old daughter is a hard one to buy for. She sometimes still clings to her dolls and things, but not when friends are around. She wants an Ipod, a laptop, a cell phone, all of those expensive, technologically-based items that are expensive, and, oftentimes, inappropriate for her age group.
She and I enjoy watching Project Runway together, and when I saw an advertisement for the Harumika products, I was intrigued - I couldn't tell exactly how it worked with the fabric, but it seemed like a great way to encourage girls (or boys, or adults really) to have fun, and express their creativity.
I purchased this, intending to give it as a birthday gift, but honestly I was so excited when the box came, I knew I couldn't wait. The minute she opened the box, she started creating - and hasn't stopped yet - I bought another set, so now she has a total of three of the dress forms - and additional pieces of fabric. I think that is plenty, as you can use scraps of your own fabric and trims to make endless styles.
Thus far, the product has been quite durable, the value for what little you get is worthwhile when you consider what you can add from your own stash of fabric remnants (or what you pick up at a fabric store from their scrap sales).
Highly recommended by my eleven-year-old, and by me.
