(More customer reviews)My 4 year old daughter got this Eva set from Santa for Christmas. She loves her and calls her "her big girl doll." She has been playing with her non-stop since she got her! :-)
I was leary of paying the money for the American girl doll - they are so expensive and not knowing if she would play with her it seemed like a gamble. The Our Generation dolls seemed like a good alternative to see if she was ready for this type of doll. And to be honest, this doll seems very similar to the more expensive dolls. She has a very pretty face (with adorable freckles)and eyes that close when she lays back. Her body is padded, she can be posed and she can stand by herself. Her hair is a bit thin but I haven't taken it out of the pony-tail that she comes with. I'm afraid my daughter's beauty salon skills aren't too great - so I think we'll leave it pulled back for as long as possible! :-)
I love that the kit comes with a lot of accessories for the doll and the storybook too. It's nice to have the story she can relate to as she's playing with her. The story is for older children but my 4 year old likes for me to read to her at night, so we've been reading chapter books for a while. She can follow the story just fine as long as we review what's going on when we're done.
We also got the "Detective Choo" accessory kit as well that is wonderful! Choo is the dog in the story that helps solve mysteries. The dog comes with costumes to dress in as well - so fun! My daughter plays with the dog on her own as well.
Eva is a great first 18 inch doll for any child to start with. I think that she'll be playing with this doll for a long time - I'm looking forward to buying new accessories and clothes for her too. I would recommend this doll to anyone! :-)
