(More customer reviews)This is a beautiful, wonderful Barbie doll. I purchased her after reading an article in a dance magazine about holiday gifts. I am both a dance lover and a Barbie lover. The doll has exquisite features, down to the hair and ruffled white dress, just like in a section of Alvin Ailey's famouse dance suite, Revelations. I highly recommend it for a collector's item.

Barbie for President 2008 Review

(More customer reviews)In this historic election, this package still would be a good idea to encourage little girls that they too have a right to seriously consider running for--and also being elected to--the Oval Office.
It would be nice to see a 'First Gentleman Ken' finally getting produced in tandem with these series. He again is missing from this and other packages in the 'President Barbie' series.
But I am pleased that 'candidate Barbie' was given a more professional campaign trail wardrobe during this campaign season. Her blue pinstripe suit does look like it would travel well whether she visits board rooms, public schools, or town halls.
To further help those rallies which will get staged, campaign posters, etc are included in the package. This generates crowd excitement. Barbie is the candidate who will address their issues effectively!
And in anticipation of the inauguration, we see her inaugural ball gown. It is a spaghetti strap pink number. While the shade of pink is very bright, it does not have a lot of jewels on it. It could still reasonably be something which Barbie would feel comfortable wearing in a traditionally conservative environment such as a political ball.

I always feel that 'slump' after Christmas when all the colorful decorations are taken down and put up until the next Holiday Season. In my older years (almost 50 years old) I have developed not only an appreciation for all the seasons but also for the various shades of blue (I have always liked warm earthtones). This Barbie Snow Sensation Doll was the perfect 'decoration' for the winter month of January to ease the letdown of taking down holiday decor. She is GORGEOUS with her white fluffy fur and snowflaked decorated dress. The snowglobe is also a very nice touch. Even if you don't care for snow, you will love this beautiful wintertime Barbie.

The glorious gown she wears is lavished with shimmery snowflakes and lightly sprinkled with iridescent glitter. The soft white trim and cozy hand-muff are wonderful wintry touches.

Barbie Collector Holiday Doll (Aa) Review

(More customer reviews)I am a little disturbed by some of the reviews I'm reading about this doll's skin tone. First of all, all African Americans are NOT the same skin tone! I'm African American and I am about 3 or 4 shades lighter than this doll. My skin tone in the African American community, is what we consider "High Yellow." So I don't get all this business about her color not being "true" African American. People please know that there is no specific African American color. African American and Latino American's represent MANY shades of Brown. I'm talking from super "high yellow" to "ebony" dark and every beautiful shade in between.

(More customer reviews)She is fierce!!!I bought this doll for my mother this past christmas and she loved it she was amazed at how beautiful and well made the doll and her clothes were Shes made from Slikstone which makes her kinda heavy and smooth like porcelain The details on this doll are great from the little buckles on the shoes her pearl earrings and black stockings to her black leather purse.Shes dressed in a very chic Chanel inspired white jacket and skirt trimmed in black with tiny black bows.There seems to be a black blouse underneath her jacket but if you open it up it's just a strip of fabric which i thought was a little cheap of them but not a huge issue I don't have any real problems with this doll other then her face not really resembling a african women's facial features but the designer of the doll Robert Best isn't known for using realistic features on his dolls They always have a small mouth and nose with really exaggerated eyes but that aside the doll is gorgeous and would be a great edition to anyones collection
