(More customer reviews)this 200 piece puzzle is the correct level of difficulty for my 8 year old, who is adept at jigsaw puzzles. it is more colorful, and the cardboard is better quality, with a glossy finish, than some cheaper puzzles. the pieces are about 1 inch in size.

University Game Impossibles Cow Country Puzzle Review

I don't consider myself a puzzle expert. But I'd guess that most people attack puzzles the same way: finish the border, tackle the easy pieces, then fill in the rest while looking at the box plenty.
Well, forget about it. There's no border, there are really no easy pieces, and there's no box to look at to see how everything fits. So the start is very difficult. Your only real clue is the box cover. It doesn't show what the completed puzzle looks like, but it does show you subtle difference between the cows and it confirms that there are some lines to use from the wood boards behind the cows. So you won't have to try 749 pieces for every open spot (even if it feels that way sometimes).
I'd recommend it highly though. If you bought a puzzle called "impossibles" you knew what you were getting in for, and you won't be disappointed. I think adding the extra five pieces was a little cruel, but I think that's what they were going for!

(More customer reviews)Though I never saw the puzzle out of the box (it was a pretty picture on the box), it was a huge hit with my elderly grandmother last Christmas. She struggles with arthritis and failing eyesight, so the large pieces are perfect for her. She used to be an avid puzzle enthusiast, but can no longer handle all the tiny pieces and difficult-to-make-out pictures. She's asked for another puzzle like this.

(More customer reviews)As neighbors, my 84 year old mom and I have the opportunity to enjoy "puzzling" for a few minutes or a few hours (when there's time and if the puzzle is especially engaging!) nearly every day. Doing this and the several dozen other (mostly large piece!)puzzles we've recently accumulated, is really fabulous for her, giving her another opportunity for lighthearted fun that she so dearly enjoys. This is another quality puzzle, with every piece easy to see, pick up, place and with no rough spots or breaks in the hefty cardboard. The colors of the puzzle are true to the depiction on the box, as well, which is quite helpful! This puzzle is easier than the broad expanse of the white counter top in the picture would suggest. True to Norman Rockwell, there are here, as always in his work, many amusing details of human nature to observe and enjoy.

It is interesting to put together as there are so many distinctive and intriguing designs within the puzzle (the puzzle picture is different from the box, as stated). The actual picture did little to help solve the mystery (booklet with story & answer included), but it was a lot of fun and a stimulating picture. We enjoy these on our "snow days" and very much recommend this one!
