The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - 12" Asahina Mikuru Action Figure Doll Review

(More customer reviews)I don't know if she's worth the near $200 asked for here, but I got her for a quarter of that elsewhere, and I love her. She's the cutest rendition of Mikuru in toy form. Unlike a number of PVC figures, she doesn't look upset or embarrassed in this form. She has a lovely smile! Her outfit, although plain, looks great. Her PVC hair is a plus. You never have to worry about doing her hair, and it looks great the way it is. The attention to detail is stunning. Her underwear is even as it appears in the anime.
The accessories are a mixed bag. I don't care for Yuki's glasses or the oven mitten. The glasses are so cheap they included two, and the mitten doesn't really fit on her hand very well. It also looks too big. However, she comes with a few extra hands, and the blue tray is nice, albiet simple. I have my Mikuru on display holding the tray, and she looks great doing it! Keep in mind that she doesn't come with a stand. You will need to buy that separately. Either that, or lean her against the wall. Or keep her sitting down.
She's got a good doll body. It comes apart in all the right places so you can dress Mikuru any way you want, and everything fits together snugly so you won't find an arm on the floor or anything. I'm not a fan of the knee and elbow joints, though. They're not a problem in her default outfit because they're covered up, but the joints may annoy you if you dress her up with other outfits that expose her joints. Perhaps long sleeves and short skirts with stockings would look good. Keep in mind, though, that she has a Mikuru-sized chest. Not all outfits will fit properly in that area.
If you're a total Mikuru nut like I am, you could do much worse than this doll. Her character is captured perfectly, and she's the most wonderful rendition of Mikuru outside of the anime itself.

I was looking for her for the longest time and when I finally got her I was just inclined to buy more of Bomé's figurines. His statues are perfectly well made and very affordable. I recommend 200%. Satisfaction guaranteed. Not a child's toy obviously, very display friendly for adult company.

(More customer reviews)I bought this barbie for my 10-year-old daughter. I also bought November birthstone barbie and June birthstone barbie for my other daughters. All are exquisite. My favorite is November because she has orange hair like my daughter's. The June barbie has similiar characteristics of my other daughter. I would have purchased the caucasian version of this barbie but it was nearly three times as much money. Judging from the picture, the african american version had a beautiful appearance, and the picture was not deceiving. She is very pretty. I love all of them, and especially since I bought them all for $13.99, I think they are really a nice purchase. They are packaged very nicely too.

Nishiki Ropponmatsu PVC Statue - Special Edition Colors Review

(More customer reviews)Obviously, if you've ever read/watched Excel-saga, you know about Ropponmatsu 2. This figure is particularity based on the swimsuit she wore for the flying contest in the seventh volume of the manga (if you haven't read the manga...I pity you). I actually happen to own the original version of this figure where she is wearing a blue version of the swimsuit, but in this special edition version, her swimsuit is more of a pearl-ish white with either a gold or silver stripe (depending on what you receive), and it's see-through...a little. You can only see her navel and some skin tone, but not much of anything else, so it's still a pretty "decent" figure (unless you really feel that bad about seeing a fictional robots navel). The detail on the wrinkles of her stocking and swimsuit are very nicely done, and the pose she making is very adorable, but the tone of her hair is a bit more whitish that pink, and her eye color is a bit lighter too, but such minor detail complains fall short because this is still a great figure overall. I've only had 2 issues so far: 1.) The cable on her head is very fragile. This is also true for the original figure as well and was solved easily by applying just a tiny drop of Krazy Glue. 2.) The base she is mounted on isn't very reliable. If you plan to place this figure in a very high area, I advise not to. One tap on the case and it's possible she'll fall off easily from her mount, and we don't want that to happen now, do we? Again, these fault are still minor, because the detail and cuteness of this figure more than makes up for them. Now if Yamato would only make a set of similarly sized figures of Excel, Elgala and Hyatt....that would be sweet. Overall, If you enjoy Excel-Saga, you might also enjoy this figure.

Mom's birthday was June 17th and I wanted a symbol of beauty to place with my Christmas Decor this past Christmas (2008) and this doll fit the bill PERFECTLY!! My Mom loved pearls (June birthstone), she liked dressy clothes with lace (the doll's dress is very feminine and lacey),and last but not least Mom used to wear her hair long and curly (the doll's hair is beautifully curled as Mom would have liked it). The glimmering background of the box adds to the magnificent Miss Pearl Barbie for June. I have also decided to display this doll in June to remember Mom's birthday and during the Holidays. I am glad to have this doll to add to the priceless heirlooms I already have to remember Mom by. Thank you very much.

Mattel has gone so far as to say so on the box: "for the adult collector". These stunning dolls are Mattel"s "Ode to Fashion" and support the efforts of the Council of Fashion Designers of America"s scholarships. The dolls are beautiful and salute the little black dress and all of the accessories that make it the fashion statement it is. Thanks to Mattel, now I can "play" Barbie too.
