Big Sister from Bioshock 2 Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)I was very impressed with the quality of NECA's Big Daddy figure so I bought the Big Sister figure with high hopes. While the detail is very good, the quality and durability of the figure is not. Right after opening the package, the Big Sister's left arm just fell off. The forearm is just attached to the upper arm/body like a peg. It does not appear to even be glued together, and it's loose, which is probably why the arm fell off in the first place. Why not just manufacture one solid arm, and attach it to the body? The quality seems to be lacking compared to the Big Daddy figure. I don't regret my purchase, but I did have higher expectations.

When I got it, I wished I had ordered more. It looks like lots of fun. The guitar seems like the barney guitar that plays preset tunes. However, there are little makeup compartments all over for your little princess. It looks like it could be lots and lots of fun. I think this is a good one for the right price. I don't think I would pay full price, though.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these as a christmas gift for my younger sister. I returned and bought one for myself (and my office) (One has many uses, in the office, for a "Holy Hand Grenade" on a daily basis).
The item is, itself, well-made for the price. It is made of a very soft vinyl cloth. The cloth is stitched, with good quality, to hold it together. The cloth is both silver and gold, which gives it the exact appearance of the "Holy Hand Grenade" in the film. There are buttons on the seems which give it a plush, upholstered look, and, a large plastic ruby on both sides of the cross on top. The cardboard box that substitutes for the wooden chest is made of heavy (about 160 lb) cardboard, and, it is nicely decorated.
There are complete instructions printed on the box:
"INSTRUCTIONS:
To use, squeeze
(No, not that you perv. The grenade)"
"DO NOT USE
As a suppository
As an egg substitute for easter events
In combination with the Holy Flame Thrower of Bethlehem"
This item seems relatively safe, and, I would entrust it to children four years old and up. It's worth the money just for the fun . . .

ANOTHER MONK (reading from the Bible): And St. Attila raised the hand grenade up on high saying, "O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in They mercy' and the Lord did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orang-utangs and breakfast cereals and fruit bats and . . .
BROTHER MAYNARD: Skip a bit, brother . . .
ANOTHER MONK: (Michael Palin) . . . Er . . . oh, yes . . . and the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out! Once the number three, being the third number, be reached then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antiock towards thy foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.

When it first arrived, I took the game home to figure out how to play it before introducing it to my students--and I was hooked! My own children are ages 10 and 11 and they love the game (we are buying a game for home), but I teach students up to age 18 and they enjoy the game just as much. Educationally, it helps younger students develop a better understanding of spatial relations and planning ahead. For older students (and adults) it helps to develop various strategy skills.
Unlike most educational games, the rules are simple and once you've played it through one time (or watched it through one time) all your effort can go into plotting your moves. The game doesn't run out of possibilities, either; every game is different, even if you play with the same people over and over.
As an educator, parent, and game enthusiast, this was money well spent.

It can be addictive, even for those not normally into abstract games. Blokus is a catalyst for spatial thinking, as players form images in their mind before placing the pieces on the board. I marked the Education 2 because even though the AG characters come from history, the game doesn't.To win, you must go home with 25 points (which you earn by answering the trivia cards right, Q# 1 gives you one point and etc. up to 3.) and at least three matches, which you can make with the trade cards you draw at every turn. You roll 2 dice to go through the game.

(More customer reviews)NECA continues their excellent BioShock line with a great exclusive set. The main figure, Subject Omega, is a repaint of the previous Subject Delta figure. Though lacking a drill arm, he comes with an exclusive Launcher weapon. NECA's reputation for textures remains solid; all the metal and cloth surfaces are appropriately textured and look very real. The paintjob, just as vital, is also up to par with few over-painted areas.
Subject Omega comes with a Little Sister in an exclusive polka-dotted red dress. Even she has accessories! An ADAM harvesting tool that fits in her hand and an adorable tiny Big Daddy doll. Her paintwork is similarly excellent, right down to her dirty, mud-flecked feet.
Rounding out the set is a life-size Splicer mask. The resin is solid, and is probably far more durable than it feels. It has an elastic band so you can wear it, but the glue holding the band on doesn't seem very strong. You could probably wear it at a Halloween party or a convention, but it will feel more at home as a display piece.
All in all, this set is practically perfect. All three parts really show the quality of NECA's work, and will be perfect on any collector's shelves.

(More customer reviews)This toy was given to my two year old on his birthday. It was difficult for him at first but he has improved his balance and coordination trying to pedal. He only spends short amounts of time on it but this is true with most things. It is also quite cute to hear him repeating the alphabet as it sings to him especially since he is a little boy not wanting to talk very much. I think it is great for his age as it does challenge him. I wish the music had a volume button as it is a little loud. It is light enough that he can drag to other rooms. Another reviewer said is was boring for his 4 year old and my little guy will probably be done with it by then but for right now he is enjoying it.
