(More customer reviews)In the reviews of the other versions of this there were a lot of complaints about the tail falling off. I too returned the first one thinking it was a faulty tail. But then I read the instructions and it actually tells you to snap it in place. Now it is fine. the tops fall off quite often, but only because my daughter is constantly carrying all three mermaid in her arms and they get knocked off. This is by far the greatest group of Barbies in my daughter's 4 year old eyes. She adores them.

Fairytopia Little Lands Playset (Blue) Review

(More customer reviews)I let my 3 year old granddaughter pick out which Fairytopia playset she wanted herself, and she chose this one. On the plus side, she seems to really enjoy it, and plays with it for an hour or so at a time, even if she is playing by herself. It is very colorful, and has a lot of different moving parts to stimulate the imagination. On the down side, the swing does not want to stay in place, and falls off if you try to use it. Some of the pieces, including the 2 figures, are very small, and I would not recommend this for a child who puts everything in their mouth. Overall, I would rate it a good toy for the price, but not great.

Quilla & Quetina Barbie Farytopia Dolls Review

They are unlike any of the current Barbie doll family (they are almost the same height as Stacey, but they have "ballerina" feet, so they can't stand alone. It's a good thing they come with a strong, sturdy stand! Their face sculpts are really pleasing, and their colors (hair, clothing & body paint) all blend together nicely. For a Barbie "purist", this might not be your thing. But, if you love dolls of all sorts, and love fairies of all sorts (especially Brian Froud- these are similar to his works, but in 3-D!), then these little darlings are for you!
Also, since there are two dolls in the one package (both can be held by the stand at the same time), little ones can play together and SHARE the dolls. The dolls themselves seem to be pretty sturdy. I'm not a 5-year-old, so I don't know what sort of wear & tear a child would put on these, but they seem reasonably well made.
Overall, I gave this set of dolls 5 Stars. I have one set, and am thinking about buying another just because they are so cute! With their little arms outstretched with their hands up with the palm facing out, they are like little sentries for the gateway to Fairytopia :D

(More customer reviews)Granddaughter plays with these in the tub ALL the time; we swim, dive, have underwater parties, get chased by sea monstors, battle bubble wave storms, and even occasionally chase the Care Bears! They have survived being beat, smashed, washed, combed and dried more times than I can count. They even survived being dragged outside through the mud by the dog and came sparkling clean. They are the #1 most popluar bath toy...so much so that when their hands got chewed off by the puppy, Grandma had to scramble to find another set! For a toy that doesn't "do" anything, I have to give these a big 5 stars!

(More customer reviews)My daughter saw this doll on TV and saved her tiny alowence up. Finally, we offered her a cash bonus for using the potty so she could get her fairy. That was the alsta accident she had. "Blue fairy" is a much loved and the first of the many barbie we now owe. I was amazed by the joints, the details, and the overall quality of these dolls. It's absolutley beautiful and the sparkle shirt has not come off at all. (I expected it to wear off with in weeks.) The only 2 flaws were the hair (we did not take it out of the pony tail as I could see it was not meant to be brushed) and the wings would break very easily. Oh, and blue fairies bite. Really, they do. However after a month or so in the home, the biting stops (or so I am told). Beware, the pink fairies also bite when they first come home...

Other than Elina, these are the only character dolls from the movie. They are very cute. The wings don't seem very sturdy, they are glued on and a 4 year old could pull them off easily. Otherwise, very cute and sparks her imagination.

The plastic was so tight around Laverna's head that it popped off while I was getting it out of the packaging. I super glued it back on with alot of difficulty but it's holding up so far.

Barbie Fairytopia - Lavender Sparkle Fairy Barbie Doll Review

(More customer reviews)I am a teenage girl collecting barbie dolls, and occasionally I play with them. I recently added this doll to my collection. I really love her, since she's gorgeous and the glitter doesn't come off (which is often a problem with glitter toys).
However, if your child is between the ages of 3 and 10, this might not be the right purchase for them. As a 'mature' collector I am always very careful with my dolls, but I'm sure you know that children often aren't. Since the wings are very fragile and will easily break, they're not really fit for children to play with.
I think that overall it's a wonderful doll, but children will need to be careful with it and that's not always an easy task while playing.

These fairies snap at the waist, the wings, and the head. The hair is changed with a small piece of velcro. Finally, a "changing clothes" toy that my daughter can do by herself!!

My three-year-old loves them, but sometimes gets too touchy-feely with them and tries to expose their hairless craniums (they are bald under their caps- they just have smooth pates the color of their hair; the hats are not meant to be removed). The hobbits of the Barbie world. Wish they came with some grub to munch on and the One Ring.

The wings are made of fabric, and let me warn you not to leave her as a mermaid to long or when you make her a fairy again her wings will look a bit crumply. Also, when in mermaid stage, her body does not bend. Don't force her to bend or she could brake. She's still fun even if she doesn't bend when a mermaid. And I advise that if you don't have room to store about 1 foot of space for this doll not to get it.

(More customer reviews)This is specifically collectible item, so I can't understand why Mattell marked it as 6+. I would estimate it as 14+ because she's not very durable - and perhaps not that interesting for children. Her outfit doesn't come off and her hair is too gelled. Her wings are rather flimsy and fragile. In general, she's for displaying - not for playing.
In my opinion this is probably the only Fairytoipa character who looks better as doll than in the movie. Very beautiful. Yes, she is quite different from promo photo, but she's much prettier.

Barbie Fairytopia Elina Doll Review

(More customer reviews)It's official, today my little girl will turn four. With that in mind, you can imagine how excited she was to finally get the "Barbie" Elina Doll with light-up wings.
I hate to say it, but as a male adult who is almost thirty, I even find this doll to be pretty cool. First of all, the doll's wings light up via the use of fiber optic lighting much like that found on miniature Christmas trees. By pressing a button on her back, her wings flicker to life. She also comes with a little blue guy. I don't know his name, but I'm sure he's in the "Fairytopia" movie. We have that as well, but I haven't watched it yet.
Here's where I really get embarassed. This doll has some really cool boots that look to be made out of vines. They go all the way up to Elina's knees. She also has flowers "tattooed" all over her arms and legs.
In short, this is a really colorful doll that I'm sure any young girl(and some of us older dudes, too) would really enjoy. It's a sure hit with your young ones!
