It is made by American Bear Co who also make the dolls for Pottery Barn Kids - the main difference between the PB and Rosy Cheeks Big Sister dolls is that the PB dolls have wire inside which makes their limbs poseable and they can stand up (leaning on something) or sit in chairs, unlike the Rosy Cheeks dolls which are floppy. Other than that, the Rosy Cheeks dolls, I think, are prettier and seem to be more consistent in their quality (some of the PB ones have had odd hairlines, squashed to one side faces and little pulls in the stitching, all the Rosy Cheeks dolls have been perfect so far)Rosy cheeks dolls faces are flat with a little button nose whereas the PB ones are more round with a stitched nose and have 2 lines of stitching down the front which I don't think is as attractive. Rosy has ears, poor PB Sophie is earless. I think the PB ones are also 1 inch shorter, although that makes no difference if you are buying clothes for them from the Rosy Cheeks selection as they are completely interchangeable. My daughter is almost 2 and prefers the Rosy cheeks dolls as she gets annoyed having to move the PB dolls legs to get them into strollers etc, but maybe that will change when she is older. Rosy Cheeks is cheaper than PB and in my opinion a nicer looking doll so if the poseable aspect is not important to you go with Rosy.
