Macie (Brunette) by Lee Middleton Review

My 3 year old daughter loves Macie. She is her most played with doll. The only negative I would say about Macie is her hair, she could use more bc you can see her scalp. Besides that she is very well crafted. She is so adorable.

My granddaughter very much wanted a doll that she could take in the bath with her. She hasn't seen this yet (it's a Christmas present) but I know she will be very excited. It is very had to find a doll for the tub and I am grateful that this one exists. Plus it is very cute and soft!

Snap 'N Style Babies - Dinnertime Time For Dalia Review

Snap 'N Style Babies - Dinnertime Time For Dalia

I was looking for a product like this. My daughter loves to dress little dolls, but is too young for the polly pocket dolls. She needed something easier. I was thrilled when I found this. I'm surprised though that this has the Fisher Price label. Their products are generally very well thought out down to the last detail. What I don't like: The doll fits into the high chair very tightly. If the doll's feet are not properly pushed down, the tray won't close. Explain that to a two year old! Lots of frustration needless to say, for something that could be fixed with a 1/4 inch of plastic. Also, the way the tray closes, it always looks lopsided, like it's not completely closed. Another thing I don't like is that the high chair tray has food and a bottle built into it. My daughter insisted that she needs to feed the doll with that bottle. She was really upset when she realized that it does not detach.
Personally I don't care for the big head of the doll with the giant hats. I'm wondering why they made the doll's proportions this way. This particular doll does not come with dresses, only onesies. None of the dolls with clothes were available at the store where I bought it. Now that I see there are many beautiful versions, some with pretty dresses and shoes, I will probably be buying another one. I would stick to the toddler-looking dolls with more clothes, and stay away from the baby ones.
My last complaint is the price. This is a relatively small item. It should be in the $8-12 range in my opinion. I paid 14.99 and to be honest, had we not been on a special outing to the TRU in NY, I would not have gotten it. It's definitely overpriced both here and at TRU. Shop around, it's available cheaper elsewhere.

Bath Time Bree - DollKraft Review

Bath Time Bree - DollKraft

My daughter just got this toy about a week ago, so this is an early review. She loves that it has real water in the tub, and by pressing the pump water comes out of the shower head. The doll is cute enough, not super adorable or anything, just your average run of the mill baby. The accessories are appropriate for the toy (soap bottle, shampoo bottle, sippy cup, bottle, ducky, shower cap, and lotion bottle - none of them work or have any contents), but my kid mostly ignores that stuff. So far I've seen just about every Barbie and water proof doll in the tub, so that is the real prize here. My main issue with this toy is the shower head angle to the tub. When you press the pump some water goes past the end of the tub and onto the floor. I don't know if mine is slightly off or if this is a design flaw. If the head were aimed a tad lower all the water would go into the tub, but each bath time experience comes with cleaning up a soaking wet floor. Since the material is hard plastic there is now way to adjust where the water goes without possibly breaking it. It is too early to tell if this is durable, so I will update this review in a few months. So far I'd say it lived up to my expectations and is a really fun gift for the youngsters.

Mattel Alana Review

Mattel Alana

I have two little girls. We built them a doll house and many Barbies came with the furniture we purchased for it. The Barbies made me uncomfortable. Many of them wear a thong like underpants that is molded on the doll's body, and their chests are bared easily. Their clothes are more often immodest, and the things just don't seem that innocent, too thin, ridiculous feet. Supermodels really. Why would I want my children playing with tiny supermodels?
So I started looking for a better doll. I was going to get some shortcake dolls, but they are pretty small, and I wanted dolls that would fit in our doll house. Then I found the Explorer Girls. I was a bit unsure, but I saw they were just a little larger than a Barbie.
These dolls are excellent! Young looking, innocent, yet stylish. They have the high quality doll hair, lovely faces, and there is a doll for just about any complexion. They are just excellent. The bodies come with underclothing painted on, and the bodies are like that of a 6th grader. Not sexual at all.
When I took them out of their packaging, they are just such a wonderful size, you can pick them up and hug them. Just wonderful. I got all of them, except the main Dora Links Doll, that costs too much and looks like it does wacky things, and has a video game. I don't much care about the game.
Mom's out there, seriously, before you buy Barbie, look at these first. They are just sweet. We have Emma, Alana, Naiya, Kate, and the regular Dora with the purple/blue looking dress. My girls adore them. Please Mattel, or whoever makes them, keep doing so. We want more furniture, more clothes, maybe pets for them. Market these dolls better. Moms will love them.
These dolls have eliminated the, "Hi Ken, let's get married and kiss" play in our house. (Nothing wrong with marriage at all! But really, does a three and six year old need to be fantasizing about it already?) Now it's "Let's climb a mountain!" "Have a race!" "Look at the stars!" And even "Let's use our wicked Kung Fu moves on the bad guys!"
Hallelujah! And Goodbye Barbie. We already don't miss you. The Barbie House is now just a doll house, and it is awesome.
The Alana doll has beautiful soft hair, and velvety pants and jacket. We just love her!

Fisher-Price Snap 'n Style Keri Doll Review

We have three of these dolls and they are a cute/fun idea. Some of the pieces are difficult for my toddler to snap on though .... wish that could be improved. Keri has the best hair of the three dolls we bought - if you only buy one this is the one I would recommend. The clothes only snap on the front of the doll - the back is just the bathing suit/outfit that is painted on the doll. The doll stands well on it's own.
