(More customer reviews)We received this furniture set as part of a furnished Plan Toys dollhouse bundle. All four pieces really have a hard time fitting in the smaller rooms in the dollhouse - you may have to choose between tub and shower. The toilet is a little strange - the lid is a separate piece that just sits on top of the bowl, it isn't hinged or attached in any way. Still, the pieces are solid wood, and if your child is young/recently pooty trained they will love having a bathroom in their dollhouse.

Ryan's Room Park and Play Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for use with the Home Again Dollhouse. I was told by Small World toys that it would be compatible. Yes...and no. It's the same wood; nice quality for pre-fab; easy to assemble. It is the same height as the "Make More Room" basement of the Home Again dollhouse. But it is not the same depth. The dimensions are: 10.5" tall (to top of garage, not including railing) x 11.5" wide x 13.5" deep (not including ramp). This garage is wider than the garage that is integral with the Make More Room basement - and my son was very pleased with that detail. The deck with railing is a separate piece that acts as the roof of the garage. You can rotate the deck opening to be on the left or right; so you can place it on either side of the dollhouse. That deck/roof piece is not attached with screws; it can be rotated on the fly by the kids (but there is a lip on it that holds it in place so it can't be easily knocked off). If you take off the deck, it can be placed on the floor next to the house like a patio; and is the same floor height as the dollhouse; but then your garage will not have a roof. The garage is open on both sides - meaning, there is access to contents behind the garage door from both sides of the unit. The only fixed wall is on the back. The ramp is attached with two dowels. It comes on and off easily; though this hasn't been a problem for my kids. The garage unit does not come equipped with a method to attach it to the dollhouse. It will simply sit side by side and can be moved around freely by the kids. Overall, I'm happy with the garage; though I think the price is on the high side for what is essentially a fairly plain wooden box.

(More customer reviews)We were initially attracted to the house's A-frame design. We wanted a dollhouse that would allow a few children to play easily in different areas of the house. The A-frame allows for this. We favor toys made of wood b/c of our concern for the environment, the safety of our children and we've found that they tend to hold up better than plastic ones. Although, we were disappointed with the flimpsiness of the wood that makes up the interior walls of the house. That Ryan's Room offers an extensive collection of furniture, dolls, etc. designed to be used with the house was also a big draw. We feel this will enable the dollhouse to grow with our 3-year old daughter through the years. The house is also simple enough to allow for my husband and I to add extra creative touches like shingles, additional flooring and paint for the walls. Overall, we are very pleased with the dollhouse.

(More customer reviews)The toy is cute and durable, no doubt. But the little baby doll hardly fits in the crib and in the feeding chair - you have to really put an effort to make it happen. As I am capable of doing it, my two and a half year old is easily frustrated by this. The little stroller is great and well sized. I wish they made the rest of the room furniture just a tad bit bigger too - it would have been truly a perfect toy then! My daughter loves it, therefore it gets 4 stars anyway!

Plan Toy Victorian Doll House Review

1. Made of wood
2. Durable
3. Large enough for (2) children to simultaneously play
4. Not made in China
This beautiful Victorian dollhouse fit the bill - the pictures, while nice, don't do this product justice. Imposing and elegant, easy to construct, and durable. So far it's been a catalyst for hours of rich, imaginative play.
If you're not familiar with Plan Toys, there are other incentives for buying this product. They are a designated Green company. The wood comes from recycled rubber trees, non-toxic glues are employed and, while not applicable here, organic vegetable dyes are used instead of paint. The company is located in Thailand, where the toys are also manufactured.
I gave it (5) stars but there were (2) imperfections, one the fault of shipping, the other by design:
1. A shard of gable trim was broken upon opening the box. It arrived a day before the birthday so I repaired with a quality wood glue. Since the shard fit perfectly and didn't splinter, it was a perfect fit and undetectable.
2. As another reviewer mentioned, the stairs are not stable -- if the house is moved or jostled they fall down. Again, I used wood glue and it can now survive a rough night at sea.
However, given the ease of remedying the staircase issue, I would hardly label this a show stopper.

We've moved the TV to the living room of our dollhouse and that seems to have solved that problem. (More customer reviews)My 2 year old loves this dollhouse. We bought all of the accessory kits and she will play with the whole set for hours on end. We like the plainness of the toys as it seems to encourage her imagination. We figure when she gets older she can decorate with wallpaper and carpet scraps if she chooses to do so. She doesn't even seem to notice the plainness or lack of color. The only downside is a lack of wall space to put the furniture against. While the openness allows a lot of access, it also allows furniture to be pushed out of rooms. We are buying her the HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN house from the same company, but it has more wall space and add-on floors for growth.

My one gripe is the little side tables that are attached to the bed. They come off very easily and could get lost. But I am learning that is kind of how dollhouse furniture is, it is detailed and small. I'm going to have to keep it out of the mouth of my soon to be mobile 5 month old. I digress. We love the Plan Toys furniture. It is unbelievably sturdy and well made. It is worth every penny of $[...] for one set. It is solid and cute! (More customer reviews)We are really pleased we bought this for my daughter's third birthday. It is sturdy enough that I don't worry about her or her 18 month old sister destroying it. It is durable, was fairly easy to put together, and has some flexibility for the placement of doors, windows and walls, which is very neat. Though you have to purchase these separately, the furnishings are very toddler friendly (at least, main room sets.) The people are very flexible and can really stand and sit. I anticipate this will get a lot of use in the years to come.
